I didn't used to care about them way back when but then my first bf made it look like someone had punched me in the throat there were so many (felt super good, I was young and had no idea I bruised so easy). It was so embarrassing, I was definitely laughed at by most of my small school.

Since society seems to see them in a trashy way and I need to present myself in a someone respected manner due to my career path, I do my best to avoid getting them were people can easily see them.

Okay... I admit it. I give them easily. I bite a LOT without even thinking about it, and he has had to ask me to kiss further down his neck. When people parade them around, I think it's trashy. When people are obviously embarrassed about it, I find it funny. When people are like my Honey and just play it cool and pretend it's not really there, definitely more like ownership.

Gave my boyfriend 3 one night, we didn't have sex but I was staying at his house and both his mom and his sister noticed them before we did. Honestly, someone was looking at his neck SUPER hard to notice because we didn't. It was an embarrassing accident but I don't see why people think they are "gross" or anything like that...It's blood pooling up at the skin like a bruise. What's gross about that? What's tacky about that? I gave them to my boyfriend completely on accident. Tackiness from having fun? I think people don't understand how big the neck is of an turn on spot for the both of us so we were completely lost in what we were doing when it happened.

I just think people get a little jealous they don't get that kinda attention or markings. I do think it's super embarrassing for the receiver though. I'm too dark to get hickies.

I once dated this much older guy. I ended up giving him a hickey at one point and remember him being so embarrassed. He said he felt like he was in middle school. I couldn't have disagreed with him more. A hickey is a result of lust and passion. It's evidence of being carried away in the moment. I personally like being carried away. I don't like to think during sex. You start to think and you become self conscious and disjointed. As a result of being scolded for my hickey-giving, sex and foreplay wasn't as good with this guy as it was before. It became methodical and redundant.. Two things sex shouldn't be.

I'm not a fan of hickeys...on me or someone else. Put a metal spoon in the freezer and rub it on the hickey...that'll help lessen it.

I think they look trashy! Maybe when I was younger they didnt bother me, But as an adult I see no use for them. I know that I had sex and dont need a hickey to prove it everyone else..........

I like marks, giving and receiving; I have no problem with seeing other people's marks.

I've actually got a massive hickey right now. It's on my shoulder, which isn't that big of a deal, but I'm picking up my wedding dress on Friday, so that might be a problem...

I had a hickey one day and didn't know it. I went shopping at the mall and found it when I was in the dressing room and figured everyone had seen it already, nothing was hiding my neck. At least I wasn't in my home area, I was half way across the country lol.

I'd never actually SEEN one until I just now googled the word & saw pictures.

I don't find these types of bruises sexy or amusing, but that's only because I don't care one way or the other, not because I find it tacky or juvenile. However, I don't find them attractive looking & I'd probably cover it up if I ever got one, just like I'd cover a pimple.

I like hickeys. Obviously I wouldn't want a visible one because I work in customer service, in a very conservative environment, but I think they're sexy. And, yeah, I think they are kind of a sign of ownership and I like that a lot too.
