Who's on Fetlife?

I've never heard of FetLife, but hubby and I used to be on AFF. We explored and then, at least for me, I got it out of my system, hit my threshold, etc...and I realized I'd rather invest my spare time elsewhere.

I'm not saying these sites can't be intriguing or a good way to meet someone, but above all you must be patient. I was always adamant about no last-minute hook-ups, meeting in public first for a talk to see if there was some chemistry between all parties, etc... A lot of members didn't want to waste their time with small-talk, but for those who did, I think the experience paid off.

Sometimes those sites are just fun places to hang out virtually too and see who is out there before deciding to take the plunge or not. We noticed there are plenty of people who are not serious about meeting, ever, but they will lead you in to thinking they are. You just have to take the time to weed through everyone. If you do find established kink groups that have meetings, that's great! We had found one that had quite a thorough introduction process and craft meets ( to make bdsm toys), but the timing never worked out for us.

I hadn't heard about it till I joined this site, but it's something I'd be interested in looking into.

I'm thinking about joining it. Particularly after Mistress Kay's description.

sorry to resurrect but this was a more active thread than the one I made over in Social.

I've been on fetlife since a few months after it started (one of the first 50,000 members in the gate ) back in 2008 I believe, I had just turned 18 and someone mentioned it at the local munch and I instantly have been hooked.

Fetlife is my Failbook (Facebook) and I spend alot of time there, as of the past year though after my first breakup I've been fairly quiet but have started to become more active as of last and plan on becoming even more so now that I have some confidence and a bit of experience under my belt ^_^

FetLife looks like a super interesting subculture that I'd love to get involved with socially, however I'm not quite at that level of kink...yet.

I honestly don't care for Fetlife. I've seen a lot of bullying behavior, a lot of immature gossiping and just silly things that I don't want from a social network. It reminded me of being in Jr High. No thanks.

It seems like some of the boards have "unspoken rules" and one is simply not allowed to question certain things or even post certain things. Some of the boards are quite cliquish and lacking in variety as well as lacking in tolerance.

I have no interest in going back. Did not enjoy the experience at all.

Joined a few months ago but I'm on there every single day.
I love that it's so helpful for joining in with the local scene, my favorite feature though is being able to type out any fetish you have that isn't on the list and add it to yours.

I know about it, but have never been a member. Honestly, I've always felt kind of intimidated by the rest of the fetish community, and whenever I read blogs or articles online from people in it, I just feel like somehow I don't belong with these other people =\ it's totally weird!

I'm on there but I find the site a little hard to navigate and buggy. Not sure why, maybe it's my browser or some strange setting on my computer, but it likes to auto scroll up to the top of the page every few seconds so it's hard to read anything or get anything done. Which sucks, I'd like to use the site more.

Some wonderful members of this forum recommended that I search for my special Dominant on Fetlife a while ago, so I did just that. It didn't take Him long to find me lol.
