Your favorite vampire?

Contributor: Tori Rebel Tori Rebel
This is stuck in my head from the crazy tangent that the Naked Reader discussion went in last night. Who's your favorite vampire, on a sexual level? I have to sadly admit that I do have a bit of a thing for Edward, Alice, and Jasper Cullen but I'm not the kind to wait around for them to get tired of their purity. On the other hand, I loved Adrian from the Little Goddess series and I liked Ann Rice's Lestat, but only in the books, not as the Tom Cruise portrayal on the big screen.

This is obviously a pretty wide fantasy, so who would yours be? I have a feeling there will be a lot of Eric Northman fans here, but I'd take his progeny Pam over him any day - love her attitude.

I'm not sure I actually 'like' Twilight...it's more of a craving I don't understand or like admitting to LOL. They're not well written, the movies suck, but the characters draw me in. I haven't started the Anita Blake books yet but they're on my list!

Armand or Marius from Anne Rice's works. Louis...always whining...

Eric Northman for sure, but I want the Eric from the books, not so much the Eric from the show.

I have really enjoyed the Twlight series. While I didnot read the books, the movies have been pretty good. I have got to say Alice is my favorite. And in some odd way jasper is totally hot.

What's the difference between the two portrayals? I tried to read the books but couldn't even get through the first one...they just weren't for me.

Well, I can't say too much without giving away what might possibly be the upcoming seasons of True Blood. I still have hopes that the Eric from the books will come out in the next seasons, but so far in season 3 it's not looking that way. Basically, while he's still powerful and has his dark "bad boy" side in the books he wasn't as cold hearted and he wouldn't have tortured the people like Eric did last season, when Lafayette and the others were locked in his basement. He also even as early as the first book was showing some signs of compassion and protectiveness to Sookie, where in the show he's just now maybe kind of sorta doing that..although after the end of last episode who knows what the heck he's doing.

I think that what we saw at the end of last week's episode somehow was him being protective...maybe he thinks she's not safe with Bill and who's going to look for her there? Maybe he'll lead Russell elsewhere to find her? I just don't think he's going to show that he's doing a good thing until after the fact.

As of the end of the first book/season, the books and series are getting more and more divergent. VERY much so in the third season from what imdb tells me.

Alice Cullen. Mmm.

(I'm straight, but none of the boy vampires that come to mind really do it for me.)

Dracula. LOL. Seriously, he is still the most badass vampire out there (referring to Dracula as he's presented in Bram Stoker's novel).

if I had to pick one of the Twidorks, Jasper is kinda cool. I like Alice in a non-sexual way, but the others... meh. But those are the book characters. As far as the movies go, the actor who played Riley was a total cutie.

Bela Lugosi is one of the most bad ass people who ever lived, and the 1931 Tod Browning directed Dracula is simply untouchable!

Hmm yes that could be. I am hoping that it's him acting as if he's keeping her prisoner because he knows she wouldn't trust him if he said that he was trying to help/protect her.

Ooh, yes, Jean Claude!

Eric from the books. Sophie Anne from the show.

And, I'll admit, Edward, Alice, Emmett, Jasper, Carlisle, Esme. Not Rosalie, though.

Gary Oldman's Dracula (and no, not the old creepy one)
I don't get the whole Twilight thing....vampires don't sparkle.

Hmm. Eric from True Blood, for sure.
Also,
Christopher Lee's Dracula
Nathan and Nestor from the Necroscope series (books)

My favorite vampire has to be Eric Northman. He's awesome. I like the Eric from the books more than the show by far. My second favorites would be Sophie Ann and Pam from the show.

How do YOU know?? Have you ever seen a Vampire? LMAO I agree, it's pretty silly, there actually wasn't very much "vampire like" about the Twilight Vampires at all.

I like the Twilight books better than the movies. Though it's PG13, I can leave the rest to my fantasy with Edward Cullen.

True Blood is on my list to watch/read.

William DaFoe did an awesome job in Shadow of the Vampire. This was a movie about the making of the Tod Browning film.

I've read a few Anne Rice books, but not Queen of the Damned. However, Aaliyah looked pretty amazing in the movie version.

Willem Dafoe was bad ass in that one, but that was about the Movie 'Nosferatu' not 'Dracula'.

My favorite vampires haven't made it to the silver screen yet. I'd enjoy being passed around the Black Dagger Brotherhood. But if I had to choose just a few I'd pick Vishous and Rhage from the Brotherhood. As for movie vamps....Carlisle or Emmett.

Ugh, I used to really have a thing for Edward until he became associated with my ex-boyfriend. Now I can't even read the books anymore because I see his character for the abusive SOB he is...and I can't even tell if I'm talking about him or my ex.
