It just isn't something I do. I have with one person, done it on a second time of seeing them. I usually wouldn't do that but something about him just felt right and I was super comfortable with him. I am still with him today and it has been almost two years now.

While I'm no stranger to casual sex, I'm actually more likely to hold off if I'm meeting someone for an actual date. For some reason, it's a little more awkward to jump into bed with someone you've just done something social with.

Gah, I hate the terms "give it up" or "put out", it sounds like you're reluctantly donating something to someone just because you feel obligated to.
Personally I haven't been on a "first date" in 4 years, I'm still with the guy I lost my virginity to so I can't really say. If I was single and going on a first date, I really think it would just depend on how the date went, I don't think there's anything wrong with sleeping together on the first date if it feels right!
