Activity Ranking

I've had some thoughts on "activity" and follow up reviews lately. I think that follow up reviews are fantastic, but I was looking at several of my own reviews. Books, videos or toys that I didn't like in the first place do not lend themselves well to follow up reviews. Any thoughts?

While I don't want to cause any conflict, I will just give my honest opinion.I have only been with the program since May. I have a total of 16 reviews to date, only ONE is verified. This is simply because I'm new. It takes quite a bit of time now to get a toy for a verified review, where I have read before the program change, they were sent out very rapidly.I've personally never really cared when reading a review if it's verified or unverified, as long as the review was helpful. The only real difference is that I know that the verified toy was free.I don't feel that I should be cast aside simply because I don't have a lot of verified reviews. Maybe that's not what you meant it as, but that's how I have interpreted it: that my unverified reviews are much inferior to verified reviews. I will never be very high on the ranking list and I'm okay with that. I just don't understand how spending my own money on a toy, taking the time to write a quality unverified review, makes my review that much less important than a verified review. Like I said, maybe I completely misinterpreted what you wrote. And I apologize if that is the case.As far as the current top 5, I believe they belong there. There are also a few others that are high on my list as well. These reviewers are active on the site and I've asked most of them with help when choosing a toy. They got back to me promptly, and if they didn't know the answer, they tracked down someone who did. They fact that I saw they were active encouraged me to seek them out for help because I knew I'd get a prompt answer. I've seen them make comments on others reviews and they have also commented on my reviews and helped me improve the way I write mine.I agree with you that activity isn't the end all of EdenFantasys, but it is important and many enjoy it. I completely recognize the fact that I am very new here, but we all have to start somewhere. This post isn't meant to cause problems, I'm just giving my opinion.

Welcome Minxy! I don't think that any of the reviewers actually feel as if they are competing with each other. I don't, anyway. Everyone is here for there own reasons. Some because sex is so much better with toys, some because they want to learn about toys, some because they want free toys, some because they are trying to improve there sexual relationship, etc. I'd say that most reviewers want to write great reviews.The entire ranking system has been viewed different ways by different individuals. Part of the issue is that everyone has a different idea of what should be considered important and the current system is poorly understood. Hopefully the new system will come out soon, and we'll all cheer!

i agree with most of what you say - i too am online a lot and being logged into the site does not necessarily mean i am expanding my knowledge of Eden products etci don't like the popularity ranking and think that an activity ranking - which reflects actual time on Eden itself - is a good idea as it will give some guidance as to the experience and knowledge of the reviewersthanks for starting this thread - it should be very interesting and helpful

Our Program Manager has spent a great deal of time working on redesigning the program ranking. The discussion has centered on quality, activity and popularity. As I mentioned in one of my comments, I see a lot of value in a separate "activity ranking" because it does build knowledge for the reviewer. It is a different reflection of experience than the quality of reviews however.I also realized that certain reviewers probably have worked hard to make their current rating very high based on activity and do not wish to lose their status with program revisions. I have seen "Dame Demi, Bulma, Jimbo Jones, Essin Em and AAG" as top reviewers for as long as I can remember. Given that Dame Demi has 211 reviews, Bulma 51, Jimbo Jones 41 etc... many of these are unverified reviews. I only have 23 reviews, including some unverified reviews and have been with the program since the beginning (or almost).I respect what these reviewers have done and know. I think a separate discussion thread specifically designed to address the thoughts on activity would be beneficial.My own (initial) thoughts.- I do not find all activity interesting.- I am often on my computer. It is very easy to follow up with any comments when Eden sends us email notification, and I do so. Otherwise if I'm not looking at a toy or following an issue I might not be on Eden for sometime. "Log in dates" would be meaningless and harmful.- Activity can be reflected in a number of ways. Last time posted on a forum, last time commented on a review, last time review written,etc.- Activity itself does not reflect quality. It's a "busy little bee" mentality.
