Improving the Weekly Rumble - come vote!

Contributor: FemmeFlo FemmeFlo
I would really like to see it limited to one review per reviewer per week. It seems like some reviewers have about 5 per week, simply because they're popular. I'm not sure how to decide on which review, if more than one review gets nominated though.

I'm also in favor of not being able to see the results until you cast your vote.

I want to thank you all for your feedback so far.

Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to change how the voting appears, so I don't think we're going to see not seeing results until after voting has occurred.

How are these for potential new rules?

- You can't nominate yourself.
- You can nominate up to 3 reviews.
- You may only win one Rumble a month.
- No review can be in the Rumble more than once.
- The first review nominated from a contributor will be the one that makes it into the next Rumble, so please spread out the nominating love.

Of course, you cannot make everyone happy, but I would be fine with these changes personally.

The only one I don't care for is only winning a Rumble once a month. My impression is that the Rumble is supposed to honor the best reviews, not spread the honor around so everyone can share. If someone happens to write excellent reviews every week, they should be recognized as such. Personally it probably won't affect me since I'm lucky if I can average a review per month. The other issue is that it will take more effort to track each winner for a month.

Any thought to reducing the number of noms to 2? We seem to be having a lot more lately to the point of being too many.

I agree, I was happy to be nominated and I feel like if your review is the best you deserve to win. You shouldn't be penalized because you already had the best review at the beginning of the month.

Oh! Thank sounds great! I am new here too and was just nominated for a rumble (thank you), but I have noticed from comments that certain people seem to contribute a review for every rumble. I don't really mind, but it does seem unfair to those of us who have a smaller review count. Between that, and one review per viewer, I think a lot of people who are not so happy with the rumble would be happier.

Points for being honest. And I agree, this can be implemented as well.

I don't have a problem with keeping it so that you can't win two weeks in a row, so I can put that back. As far as changing the number of nominations, I worry about what happens those times where everybody seems to forget to nominate and we only have nominations because two or three people maxed theirs out. It doesn't seem to happen as much anymore, but it's still something I worry about.
