You *always* use the item, but if you don't like it for personal reasons (too big, too weak, etc) then you write it up from an unbiased factual angle.
For example, instead of saying "This thing has the lamest weakest vibrations I've ever felt. It's useless!" you would say something like; "It has very gentle vibrations that would be ideal for sensitive users." That's a lame example, but you get the idea.
It's best to keep "I" out of it as much as possible and just report your observations in the main sections of the review, keeping in mind who the product might appeal to. Then you can use the Experience section to get into your personal opinions.
