Does it count?

I just bought a new dildo from work, which by the looks of EF, has not yet had a review. If i submit a review on it, does it count toward me gaining headway in requesting more expensive toys to review? Or because I didn't recieve t from EF would it just be another review and then take away the chance for it to count for me or someone else?

Would I have to request EF to put that assignment to me so it can count even if though they didn't send it to me?

It will not "count" as a verified review, if that's what you're asking...it does however add to your ranking. All activity contributes to your ranking. It will count as a review in your account as well, just as a "Not Assigned" review, which many contributors do and should have. We expect that contributors will buy items from us on their own and still write reviews. Not every review has to be assigned (or free!).

I had a similar question and asked the administrator. I was told that the reviews that determine reviewer level (and therefore pricing guidelines) are only from verified reviews. So, for example, you will move to a mid-level reviewer (and be able to choose toys under $40) once you have 6 verified reviews.

Grabbed this from the Pricing Guidelines for Choosing Products page:

Guidelines:
-New Reviewers (5 reviews or less) should generally choose products under $30.
-Mid Level Reviewers (6-10 reviews) should generally choose products under $40.
-Seasoned Reviewers (11-15 reviews) should generally choose products under $50.
-Experienced Reviewers (16+ reviews) - all products over $50 are assigned by administrator. Contact administrator for approval.

This is how I understood everything, but if I'm mistaken someone please correct me!

It is important to be as active as you can in the community in both submitting your own unassigned reviews as well as reading, commenting, and rating others. This helps to grow the community which benefits everyone. We love having active, honest and helpful community members and as In the Pink said previously it all helps to add to your ranking.

Thank you everyone for your comments, that did answer my question. One other since i'm here, if doing the buy out method, would that count as a verified review? or is it only if we recieve the "free" items?

I suppose best way for me to put it is: I'm wanting to be able to move up in ability to review higher priced items. If i do the buy out method, would that contribute to my ability faster?

Choosing buyout and then reviewing the toy you bought that way (through Edens) does count as a verified review. I did that for the Liberator Wedge/Ramp, which already had a few verifieds. Hope that helps.

No problem. If you ever want to message or email me, feel free to. I'm not an expert by any means, but I ask A LOT of questions, so I've slowly learned about a lot of the review program & the site in general.

I didn't know about this either, so I'm happy Avery asked. I was considering purchasing items anyways, so the prospect of it counting towards my review level is great!

So, question - are these guidelines right? And do we just have to keep track of our # of verified reviews or is this listed somewhere which level of reviewer we are?

As far as I know, your verified reviews will always stay in your assignment cart. It will show that a review was published. So you only need to check there to see how many you have. The guidelines by MissKissThis are correct and you can always try to request a verified review for something over your limit and it will tell you what your limit/level is.

Thank you for the guidelines Miss Kiss. My service level was just recently upgraded to advance & since I had no clue what the guidelines were, I choose a "surprise me" assignment. I'm still awaiting my assignment, I'm curious to see what I'll get.
