How Do I Put Pictures in My Reviews?

bluekaren bluekaren
I found an old discussion on this from about a year ago, but it didn't address all my questions.

I have my pictures on picassa on my computer, do I need to store them somewhere on-line. Also, how do I insert the pics into the review itself? You would think I would be able to figure this out myself after navigating wordpress. I don't know how I could see my review before sending it to the editor, and I don't wanna try someone's patience there...

Thanks in advance for your help guys!

Yes, you need to have the pics hosted online. EF has a Flickr group that you can use. Personally, I had problems with Flickr and use Photobucket myself.

To insert a picture in your review, first right click the photo at the source and copy the image location. Then in your review, use the following format:

]img|image location[

Simply reverse the direction of the brackets in the review. Hope that helps.
(You can practice posting images in this thread)

You're typing "image" rather than just "img"

It's not how to insert, it's where to host. I don't think flickr is goind to like adult content on the long run. I don't trust them. The free image host services simply remove your image if you exceed certain traffic, or if they are too adult content, unless they explicitly allow it. Also 'hotlinking' is an issue to most of them. So far my best bet would be setting up a private image hosting service for eden members on a webshost that would allow this.

Bottom line is that if you choose poorly and get your image(s) removed you'll end up with broken images in the review that you can't edit after 3 weeks or something. I guess support could help you add the new URLs - of the reuploaded images - but let's find a future proof method!

No I didn't open the whole flickr image, just the thumbnail to see if it would work. I am excited to be able to add photos to my reviews!!!

You can set your Flickr to have adult content. It's photobucket that doesn't allow it. What kind of "adult images" are you referring to? EF is an adult site, but to my understanding, no pictures of genitals are allowed on the site. But I have pictures of dildos and vibrators and crops (some in conjunction with my lingerie-covered breasts) all over my Photobucket page.

You can do it manually in something like Paint or Paint.net, or when you upload the photo to your hosting site of preference, you can sometimes select the size you want the pictures to upload to. I know for sure you can do it with imageshack, but I haven't played around with Flickr, Tumblr, or Photobucket on that.

I use Flickr. My account is deemed "restricted" and as long as all my files are "restricted" prudes know to stay away from my page and I have no more complaints.

Flickr was really nice about letting me know what I had to do in order to "restrict" my account and doing so even got rid of a Creeper who was "following"" me on that site.

Since then, I've had no problems with them. Although, after 200 images you have to upgrade and I am not going to pay for a photo account, so as long as it's free I'll stay with them.

i couldn't figure how to do it from image shack and was too lazy to mess around using paint etc, but i checked out some basic html code (very nubishly) and guessed a bit and got pix to be a certain size in a review by using this format:]img|[http://img3.imageshack.us/edit_preview.php?l=img3/7718/acrobatic.jpg&action=rotate| height="350" width="200"[ but with brackets flipped. For some reason the photo isn't showing up in the 350x250 dimensions on this forum like it does for the review.

On imageshack from the upload media page right where you'd select your images, below that is the option for size. That's awesome that you were able to flip it around like that.
