Problem requesting assignments

Curiouscat Curiouscat
So I put the toys in my price range for my rank in to my assignment cart. But when I look at them in my assignment cart there's no option to request them or anything. The only option is to 'write a review' I clicked on that but it gives me the forum to fill out for the review. But I don't have the toy yet.
What does this mean?? Do I have to be an advanced reviewer to get free assignments? I made sure the toys didn't have many reviews yet.
Help!

You have to be advanced to get assignments. You can become advanced through a vote or going through the mentor program. Hope this helps!

Yeah, you can apply to become an advanced reviewer through voting (Which, looking at your reviews right now which are better than some advanced reviewers) would be super easy, or you could apply to become a student of a mentor, who would coach you through reviews, and then when they graduate you (after at least two reviews) you are automatically an advanced reviewer!

Wait! Don't go up for vote---you already have an awesome mentor!

(If you go up for vote while you're in a class, your reviews are locked up, because the two systems were put together independently and they don't mesh well.)

So once Alice graduates you you'll be able to request assignments.

And thanks Ryuson! I'm glad you think so, i'm improving.
I do have a mentor but nothing to review at the moment with the holiday and such hah.

Just sent in my advanced reviewer request! ty again.

Oh no! You shouldn't do that when you have a mentor! You'll cheat your mentor out of the Eden Points and giftcard for graduating you. While you're a student you can receive free assignments, you just have to do it through your mentor. Your mentor will request the products for you, you'll get them for free, write your review, and be on your way.

Unfortunately there is not much you can do at this point. I don't think you can retract the vote request. If Alice is concerned with the situation, her only choice is to either pass or fail you before you become advanced for her to get the GC.

Shit, I didn't know that! Can I withdraw?? She's an awesome mentor I don't want to do that to her.

I don't think you can withdraw - unless she can take action and pass or fail you before folks vote - there isn't anything she can do.

Sorry.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much. This unfortunately happens quite often. Most mentors are used to it and we are much more interested in helping a student improve, especially if they show real interest in improving themselves. The GC is more of a bonus, or at least that's how I view it. It was an accident. Alice will totally understand.

No, it won't kick you out of the program. The only difference is Alice will not receive a GC when she graduates or fails you. Many advanced reviewers choose to work with mentors to improve themselves.

Many times a mentor will tell a student right in the beginning "please don't go up for a vote but instead lets work together until I graduate you because I won't get a gift card if I help you". It may not have mattered to her about the gift card if she didn't mention it. I mean - its a nice thing- but not the end of the world.

Anyway - while you write quite well - I won't vote for you if only to slow down the process and wait to see if she can pass you in time or something.

hey guys! not to worry all. i normally do send out this information with my first contact with students.. but my first contact email is ALOT to read and is understandable if something gets overlooked. i myself had no idea about this information until becoming an advanced reviewer. no harm no foul.
