That's the Description Review Program. A bit more of a challenge to write (because the reviewer is writing the description as well), but a good challenge.

Glad you like it. As one of the description reviewers it's nice to know that the patrons of EF like it.

Seeing this post made me realize that it's been over a year now since we got the Description Review Program going - and it's doing great! I love that we don't just throw some paraphrased version of the packaging copy onto our site and sell the products without them being tested first! And a few of our Description Reviewers will tell you that there's been a few products that tested badly and never made it into our selection - so that's a major plus, in my book. Tried and true? You bet!

I didn't realize it had only been a year. It certainly was (and is), a great idea!

I still like the canned, succinct product descriptions of old better.

I'm crazy, I know.

I do enjoy writing the description reviews, though, and love the way they integrate onto the site now that we use the extended template for them. It looks lovely.

But I do feel like I have to wade thru a ton of info sometimes to find the basics.

And aren't I just a negative nelly? (not really. I appreciate the program and the features. I just cannot tell a lie and say I like it *better*)

I feel that limit for the summary for Description reviews should be longer, though. It's hard to write everything that I want to in 500 characters or less. It is great though! I just sometimes wish that description reviews, in addition to being a review, should be able to write the description as they used to be written.

I find that it helps to change your thinking a bit for doing description reviews. The biggie is the summary - don't think of it as summarizing the review, think of it as summarizing the product. For the other parts you have to keep in mind that you're not only reviewing the product, you're also introducing it.

I'm still working on how to best mentally organize the sections though to make them most readable.

I really like the way that the verified review is embedded in the descriptive review.(I think that's what it is!) I like being able to read the specs and then read more about the product from a reviewer's perspective.

I prefer the descriptive reviews over the older ones. And I really enjoy writing them as well.
