In a review, do you like slang terms?

I would much prefer cunt or twat than dick or pussy. I am reading the review for the meat of it, not for the language choices the reviewer makes, personally.
Funny, I'm starting to come around to cunt. (I still hate twat, it just sounds... I dunno... I just don't like it) and I LOVE the word COCK and am starting to hate the word dick, it sounds like I'm calling someone a name.

Agreed. My preferred genital slang is cunt and cock. Twat is fine by me, not something that I tend to use though. Pussy and dick sound like insults to me.

Some of my preferred slang words are completely inappropriate for the review process (boy-clit and gash for example). I'm not sure why I find the more offensive words so appealing. I just do. Doesn't make them appropriate, in my mind, for me to use them in a review.

But I wouldn't really care if someone else did, unless it was done in an overtly offensive and mal-intended way.

I would not use most of those words. I think it depends on what they are reviewing. It might not bother me reading it, if it's not raunchy.

I think it depends on the context. I'm not particularly offended by it, but gratuitous use of slang can get tacky.

I think it's mostly appropriate, but not if it's constantly used over and over again and the entire review just sounds like erotica. I tend to avoid using words like penis and anus, as I don't want it to sound too much like a medical report or a scientific finding (I read a lot of those, by the way). Instead, I try to moderately make use of words like cock, dick, butt, hole, etc., but not to an extent that makes my review sound like a written pornographic story.

I'm mostly indifferent. It doesn't matter much to me.

right whatever you are used to saying is fine if people don't like it, they just have to deal with it

I like to make smileys in my reviews, but when the editor looks at them they always take them out. :/

I'm the same way! A lot of times I just don't think it sounds very tasteful. I HATE the word cu*t. I heard someone say it the other day and I just walked away. Something about it is just so harsh. I kind of feel like the reviewer isn't trying to sound very... I don't know the word, professional maybe? Not that a revew needs to sound pro, but I can't really explain it. It just isn't always necessary. I also hate to see careless words in reviews like vag or when people use slang terms a lot. I don't mind most words, but I admit some extreme ones or words that are so carelessly used/spelled or abbreviated in reviews are a huge turn off!

Overall, I tend to agree with you. Why take the risk of offending someone (even though this is obviously a very open, accepting group). While words like that don't bother me at all, I am sensitive to the fact that some folks are, so why would I include that in one of my reviews.

I totally agree with you! I don't like a bunch of slang but I don't want it to be boring either. How do I feel about it? Exactly what you said it your first post.

Occasionally appropriate. It depends on the writing style and the type of product.

I wouldn't use slang terms in a review and generally don't like to read them in other reviews either, but I've seen some situations where they are acceptable.

I happen to think certain toys are okay for certain reviews. Like I say fuck when it comes to porn, but usually not for other reviews

It really depends on the theme of the review. I agree about the word cunt, however, I have always hated that word as it is usually derogatory when used in a real life situation.

It depends on the situation, but overall, I don't like to see it used on reviews. When reviewers start to get too "frisky" with their vocabulary I just skip that part and see if there is something more useful after that.

I definitely feel like you need to cautious about your usage, stay away from "trigger" words that many people tend to dislike. Sometimes it is ok, it is sex toys after all... we don't have to be prudes

I agree where some words do seem a bit too brash or offensive and might cause one to not take the review seriously or even stop reading it right away. I try to be as professional. The worst words I use are pussy or cum.. and maybe cock.

i think if the terms are being used in context, it's ok. i personally like to be more scientific but if someone else uses them, more power to them. i get annoyed when the reviews are written in such a way that it's almost meant for a five year old (yeah, weird, i know)
