According to Sammi's email when we were accepted as editors, you are awarded 250 points for finding plagiarized reviews in the task market. I'm not sure if this is still being honored.

If you suspect a review has been plagiarized, you should email me, while you still have the review, with this same information, as well as where the review has been copied from. If you send me this information, and keep ahold of the review, you will get 250 points (manually added). (Please note: normally, you would “submit to administrator”, and then email me. This function currently is not working, so until I let you know, please DO NOT submit to administrator. This puts the review into draft status and sends it back to the reviewer, and I cannot see what’s going on with it!)

I mistakenly used the Submit to Admin button, and can verify you do lose 1/3 of your daily edits and get no point compensation. I recently caught two published reviews and 4 unpublished reviews, forwarded ALL of them to the proper place, and they're all still there. To be fair, in the message I did request only a single 250 point compensation for all of the things I caught, as I didn't want to take advantage of the situation.

Might I also add, we need to give Stormy a chance. She is one person trying to trouble shoot what took a whole team previously. We can't expect miracles overnight and need to have a little understanding.

Thanks for the correction. I lost some using the admin button that had other issues too. Not a big deal, but it's been broken for some time.

Thanks Kindred.

Perfect...just one small problem...

If you taken this these tasks, please release them! I can't cancel them if you're holding onto them. Thanks!

Will do. Notably, not all of those tasks are stolen. Just the names I mentioned in-text, as far as I (or others) have verified.

Thanks so much Stormy! I just sent you a PM with 2 reviews I found several days ago that got published but are plagiarized.

Sorry to dump more on your plate, but one of them is by a member who has clogged the Task Market already... and you will likely delete all their reviews anyway, so maybe it won't be so much extra work.

That list is ridiculous. Those accounts should be shut down immediately.

I like this idea, review points AFTER publication. I realize they probably have a long list of things they have to and want to do. But this seems like a priority issue.

I think the points for reviews should be handled the same way that points for SexIs articles are handled. Points are not rewarded until a few days (5, I think?) after publication.

While this might irritate those who submit legitimate reviews (who wants to have to wait 5 days for points?), it would also help catch those who try and pass other peoples work off as their own.

I suggested this back on Gary's orginal change suggestion thread. Guess no one listened.

I also think points should be tied somewhat to the quality of the review. Not that the voting system isn't flawed or biased a bit, but if someone is getting massive Low votes, because they slopped together 5 broken sentences (or plagiarized), they shouldn't get as many points as someone who put in a ton of effort and has lots of EU votes. You could get initial points for publishing and then more points over time based on the quality of the review...though that might be getting too complicated.

Plus a review of the Free Eden gifts (bag/wipes/cockring) is hardly equal to one for a high end vibe with multi-functions.

Maybe different categories should have tiered points based on the demands of the item reviewed. Lubes/bondage/condoms/ vibes/dildos etc....

Right now...the task market is a bit tricky. I am finding it better to wait until Stormy gets a chance to do a bit of housekeeping in there before doing much of anything.

I'm glad this is being addressed....and it's obviously a priority now more than ever...with the huge increase in points people are getting for these fake reviews.

That is a great idea! I could totally wait for points after it is published. I rather wait than find out one of my reviews have been stolen. I have been off EF for a while, so reading about this is such a shock.

It's sad....but to be expected I think. People did it when it meant 50 cents.....so there is going to be a lot more of it now that it means ten bucks.

I really think it is a good answer. People would still plagiarize, but they wouldn't get the points. Then they would probably be deterred from doing it again since they realize there is no point. Not every plagiarized review will be caught, but I think editors get the bulk of them. It just makes me sick thinking of all the points people are racking up by simply copy, paste and click. I can only see it becoming more and more of a problem, and if something doesn't happen soon it is going to get REALLY out of hand.
