It helps for those buying the product as a gift.

I'm 50/50 with the packaging. First of all, it is helpful to get a rough idea of the packaging from a contributors picture cause it can reveal a more realistic size. This is helpful for those people who need to be more discreet when receiving packages from Eden and have other household guests. If you receive this jumbo sized box because the toy you ordered has excessive and pointless packaging, people naturally will be curious as to what you ordered.

Product pages often reveal a basic standard on the product packaging. An example is most Doc Johnson toys here on Eden on average show 1 picture for packaging. It's just a front view usually, some people might want to see the back, or see a contributors picture to get a size idea, or maybe a closer up picture to see if it's worth storing.

In the end I'm fine with people adding packaging pictures to their review, I usually will do it. But it's when you add multiple pictures of the packaging that only offer the same view as the product page. If the product page shows the packaging on the front, then you really don't need to include an additional front picture of the packaging in the review. I am guilty of doing this from time to time.

Packaging does not really influence my purchase decisions though. I don't care what it comes in, as long as it comes to me in 1 piece and in working condition. I never store my toys in their packaging really. I guess the only packaging I care about is bath/body/beauty products. Things I would keep stored in the open or in a cabinet in the bathroom. I work retail and deal with people all day that whine and bitch about a small dent in the box that they are going to open up and throw out any way lol.

The only way the packaging photos mean anything to me is if the packaging fails to protect the product well.

I like the pictures. But I prefer lots of pictures, they help me get a better sense of the product than lists of measurements. It's nice even if it doesn't influence my decision.

I WOULDN'T buy a product if I couldn't see the packaging. It's kind of like when I want to try a new recipe; if there isn't a picture of the finished product, I won't bother making it. I guess I'm a "visual" person

I would say if it is noteworthy. I mean the pictures of something in a plastic bag really isn't that useful to me.

I like to see it if it's noteworthy. Like the bottle rocket line

I thought it was a requirement at first, but now I rarely consider putting packaging as part of my reviews, unless there is something interesting to say about it like the cute holiday giftbox style of the Naughty Secret Santa Tingle Gel, which would be perfect as a small present.

I mean I like that some people have posted how some of the glass toys came in, which made me expect that with some of mine. I am use to getting everything in a box so it would have made me wonder if I hadn't seen that some just come in pouches

I think the packaging pics are important if the item is one that can be a gift

All I'm looking for in my sex toy packaging is something that recycles with as little fuss possible, or, alternately, provides the perfect storage for the item, but I'm going to buy an item, or not, based on the item, not the packaging. If people want to take pictures of the packaging, I'm not going to complain, but I'm also not going to care if they leave them out.

Sure, why not? It's usually not essential, but it's nice to see what the toy is packed in (especially if it's a nice box or case--something above the cardboard/plastic packaging, which might actually be useful for storage).

I like to see it if it's got info on the packaging that I might want to read, or if it's particularly nice.

Unless it's really unusual, like LELO packaging. I don't need to see the packaging.

It's not a necessity, but sometimes packaging will influence me one way or the other. Sometimes I need something to store it in.

I find a lot can be told from the packaging. I always try to include pics of them in my reviews and love seeing them in others.

For someone that just got their first toy in the mail, photos of package is something I would find useful.
I was a little disappointed with the packaging on my new toy, considering the size of the box it was posted in.
I think the packaging photos help, maybe not with making the purchase but with bring expectations closer to reality.

I like to see them but it's not a dealbreaker. It usually gives me a better idea of the actual size of the products.

I agree..and it tells me how proud the company is of their product. I usually try to include them..or at least describe them

if something comes in a clear back, its easier to just say, "it came in a clear bag". But if it something worth seeing, then yes.
