Review Submitted....for months! Pissed off!!

Contributor: Ladysam420 Ladysam420
I am seriously pissed off about this, I wrote not one but two perfectly good reviews...somewhere on this piece of shit website it clearly states "it takes 3-5 days for reviews to be published" ummm try MONTHS. Fucking waste of my time. And when I try to contact some idiot via email she can't even decide what her fake name is and gives me some bullshit excuse that she has no control over reviews.... as far as I'm concerned this whole websites review process is a FUCKING JOKE. If anyone can help me with this stupid bullshit that'd be dandy.....

There are a few responses up to this issue already - Charmedtomeetyou has two great ones right on the front page of Eden here and here.

It may also make you feel a bit better to know that your timeline may be a bit off - your reviews haven't even been in the system for one month, let alone multiple. As well as this, the review regulations suggest that the norm is one to two weeks (not three to five days) when there is no backlog.

I'm just telling you exactly what I read on here, so might want to tell who ever the big boss is to change what is on the actual website instead of just making assumptions that everybody knows everything that you do. Get your head out of your ass.

I'd be super interested to know where you read 3-5 days, as I linked you to where the website clearly states that the general time frame is one to two weeks. =)

I assure you that that there was no assumption that everyone knows what I do, which is why I added the links.

I believe we know who flagged the post and surreptitious's info was accurate and in no way inflammatory.

Gosh, If you don't like it go elsewhere or start your own blog. Needless to say you are new here and not up to speed. Now we will have to wait and see how "Perfectly" your two reviews are. Perhaps you should consider some AM classes.

I think the community will welcome you here, but such language. Maybe an apology is in order. Give it some time.

Just so you know, editors are not employees. We do not actually even get paid. We get POINTS, which we can use in the same way as you can use the ones you got for making this thread. This being said, the hour or so that editing takes is basically volunteer work. Editors are people with lives and jobs, so we edit when we can. There are many reviewers and not that many active editors.

It's a shame too, EF could gain an extra editor if someone would approve my application.
Oh well, for now I'm saving myself a few headaches.... LOL

Many headaches, lol. You should see some of the reviews we get.

I had one recently where the girl copy pasted one of her own previous reviews and changed a couple of words.

I have gotten several like that as an editor and even found some like that that other former editors published, apparently not doing a plagiarism scan, as they should have. I know a former editor who told me he used to pick three random sentences from a review and run them on Google as his plagiarism scan! As you know, SYN, I scan every single word and recommend others do, too, since sometimes they even copy the summary. And as Rossie has seen in an edit of hers a while back, even reviews full of many spelling errors (and generally poorly written) can have plagiarized content! You just never know, even if the person has never done it before. I have had several returning, formerly very good reviewers, suddenly submit fully copied reviews from other websites! I guess they thought now they'd get away with it?

Or how about the many reviews with not one single capital letter or punctuation mark of any kind? I don't see how people can submit things like that and expect someone to make all of those corrections.

Exactly! I've even had some without a single actual sentence - they were just all fragmented lists and run on paragraphs.

Yup, and now I scan every single paragraph before I start editing.

I find it pretty funny how now that it's actually the OP's turn on the queue, her review isn't opening for me. It appears glitched.

I'm not quite sure. A bit of both?

Every time that I try to click "proofread" it redirects me to my own list of reviews rather than to the text of her review. Only her Ida one does this - the rest of the reviews in the queue I've encountered so far are fine.

Both her reviews do this for myself and some other editors as well. I checked them as soon as she complained (I wanted to see how good a job she did on them since I had bothered to count down their places on the list for her). Now, I will tell you that a long time ago I remember scanning both her reviews for plagiarism (as I used to do for ALL the ones as they came in on the review list - however, I now only spot check down the list once and a while out of curiosity, but of course I always scan the ones I edit. ) Anyway, I remember scanning both hers because I saw they were for expensive Lelo items and I was curious about what she thought and if they'd be copied at all as I find many of the high end ones like Lelo tend to have many reviews elsewhere that people "borrow" from. I remember both of hers cleared an were original and they looked at a cursory glance to be written well enough (definitely not one of those extended format reviews with just a sentence or two in each section).

So, something happened between then and now, I don't know what, but I suspect that the admin she contacted MAY have, in their ignorance with the glitches with the system, sent the reviews into a black hole by using one of the buttons to send it somewhere -- but those have never worked according to what Stormy told me and that's why we have to contact Ilya to ask if he'll return a review to the writer for us. Anyway, I have seen this happen once, maybe twice since I started editing and back when I reported it to Stormy, she removed it from the market, but I was never told what happened, or if she was able to fix it, but I seem to remember she couldn't fix it. This is why I recommend everyone keep a copy of their review before submitting it!

I submitted 2 reviews over a month ago and they have not been touched. I contact surreptitious and asked for help. I also did the mentor class and did reviews also to help myself. I have contacted EF and have not gotten a response and my first 2 support tickets were put in on 3/12/14 and to this day have not received anything back. I understand the frustration by far but read the rules and everything before getting on here and running your mouth. Everyone on here has their own life and not online every minute or every day.

Your situation is, thankfully, simple. We don't publish plagiarized reviews

I was going to say, they worked when I checked them when all of this happened. It probably was the admin black hole thing. : / Oh well. Maybe an admin will fix it for her.

Jodi, I am a little confused, are you responding to my comment and telling me not to run my mouth? Because you hit the reply to my comment, so I have to ask! I know we published a few of your reviews, but then there was a problem with one and a message was left for you on it, so you should have gotten an email with link to the review and the comment section at the bottom where the editor can leave you messages and you can respond. Perhaps you didn't get the message? I will PM you with the info rather than mention it on here, OK?

A minor point at such a moment....but there was a time when the admin button worked...and did actually send it to an admin.

Ahhh, Stormy told me it never worked, ever! And I didn't have reason to not believe her or someone I knew to ask. Thanks for telling us that. I just tried the send back to reviewer button and it doesn't work. At first it appeared to because it had a message saying so, but then I tried to access the review after unlocking it an it let me with no sign it was returned to the reviewer and inaccessible until they return it (as it normally should be). Well, I guess even if it did work now, they have no one who would bother to look at them, eh? You know I am getting really annoyed with the lack of support from admin when we (editors and mentors) are just trying to help their site! You know what? I am trying an experiment and sending a plagiarized review (that I told Ilya about months ago and he's done nothing about) and I'm going to use the send to admin button and we shall see if the same thing happens to the review when we all try to access it -- namely, it will take us to our own review page. Editors, it's going to be task # 41285, so try to edit it and let me know what happens, will you? Thanks!

OK, just submitted it to admin and it shows up now on my completed tasks list as status cancelled and is no longer showing in the task market for me. I did make a copy of it beforehand, but now we just let admin deal with it, IF it gets to them an frankly as it's a plagiarized review, I really don't care that their review is gone.

I wasn't attempting to make any sort of point....just sayin'. It was way way back in the day.

I am with you on the review...it seems to be gone, which is also a minor point right now, as it was a plagiarized review.

Agreement all around from me.

It's okay if the review disappeared because not only do I have a copy, but she plagiarized two others, so there is plenty of evidence without this particular review needing to be there to prove it. But I wonder now why we see our review pages when trying to access this other woman's reviews? I thought maybe that would be the answer, but it's obviously not it. All I can think of is that an admin did something to it and it didn't go as expected?

I know you were just correcting us and not making a particular point, but I am grateful nonetheless. Man, I sure am tempted to send all the plagiarized reviews to the admin via that button, lol! But the best I can do now if they refuse to remove them when they are reported to them, is to let other editors know not to edit any future review by these people should they submit more. I'll try, but keeping track will be entirely too much work for an unpaid position with no support to speak of!

Thanks for the all around agreement

Yup, task # 41285 is definitely gone from the task market.

About the redirected to our own review page question: I think the admins purposely programmed it to do that. So whenever you click on a deleted link (e.g., reviews and threads), you'll be redirected to your own review page.
