So, has becoming a reviewer turned you into a sex toy snob?

Contributor: Mr. E Mr. E
Not so much a "toy snob", I prefer to look at it as making educated buying decisions.

I wouldn't buy rotten, spoiled meat at the grocery store, no matter how cheap it is. We don't want to get sick you know.

So, why would I purchase inferior, porous toys? We disposed of our rubber and jelly toys several years ago when we realized my wife was having nasty rashes and infections whenever she used them.

not much has changed. We are more careful with toy materials, but that has been due to bad experiences with bad materials.

Yes. But let's use "connoisseurs" instead

I'm also a lot less forgiving as time goes by. If I see a price tag over $100 (hell, even over $75) I'm going to expect nothing but the best. Hence I don't sugar-coat and have actually lost interest in trying out anymore Lelo items and I am very hesitant on any luxury vibe now.

I've always been a bit of a snob But definitely. Having more knowledge and interest in toys has definitely led me to want to only purchase higher quality materials that are going to last longer and work/feel better.

Nope. I like to keep my options open.

I am much more informed now but I still tend to buy toys that interest me and not worry too much about materials and whatnot. I believe that all companies have something decent even if not their entire line is great quality.

I am in the same position as Deltalima...

I am much more aware, and my preferences are still safety and rechargeable over other choices... But if I like the looks, the stats provided... I'll still probably pick it up and know it is not going to last forever.

I do may more attention to material and brand now. I'm more comfortable getting something that I have seen on here with a good rating if I'm buying from a store.

I admit I am a sex toy snob. I started with jelly type toys and soy me "mysterious" substances. When I think about it; I was lucky not to pick up something.
Now, I just have no patience for inferior toys and yes, I totally avoid some manufactures.

Thanks to EF, I am now a walking sex-toy dictionary and encyclopedia.

This makes gift giving much more accurate than "hey I bought you a vibrator."

Hell, I'm not even a reviewer and I've become MUCH MORE selective with toys, since regularly perusing this forum.

Since joining this site and educating myself, I've definitely become more picky. Reading reviews has been incredibly helpful in guiding me toward materials that are safer and easier to clean/store.

We're always fairly careful with what we buy, but we're willing to try new stuff regardless of being knowledgeable of it or not.

Only when it comes in terms to getting items with safe materials. That's one of the first things I look at when I browse a product now.

I think I've become a lot more aware of the materials I do and don't like since becoming a reviewer. There are some that I just don't want to use.

I do still try to keep an open mind about them though.

Definitely - I'm more aware of the safety levels of various materials. I was always a snob about vrooms, though, so that hasn't changed much

The first time I ever bought a toy it was from Eden. I read reviews, watched videos, educated myself on materials. I don't think I've changed into a snob or maybe I have always been a snob because I went out of my way to make sure I was getting a good product for what I had to spend.

I've learned so much about toys here! I can't believe some of the things that I used to buy before I came here and learned more about materials ect. I am totally a toy snob now and I think it's awesome.

I don't think it would make reviews snobs just because they have learned from their mistakes and they now know what they like.

Kinda. I do like checking out things that I'm not sure of, but if it's rating is 6 or less I don't give it the time of day.
