What is more important to you in a review?

I am one who likes to compare products...I don't think Mike is referring to me - but even if he is - that is ok too.

The thing is - I've used probably every brand of bath and beauty products on here - so if I can - I will try to give you the difference between them in case you are looking at other brands also.

For instance, I love DONA and I love Not Soap Radio - but I ordered (and received today) the new products from EOS (Evolution of Smooth) so I can compare them with the others. Yes - my review will hold almost as much information about the other products (unless I can bring myself to cut it down some) but that will hopefully help others not waste their money.

I don't try to go into details though about products that Eden doesn't sell.

I like humor but not too much. Reviews that fall in between are always helpful to keep things light and just get to the point of the product

No no I wasn't referring to anyone specifically at all. I just vaguely remember reading some reviews not so long ago that seemed to stray away from the product itself and more onto other things. I just felt it really didn't help me in any way (again not you)

But in comparing DONA, Not Soap Radio, the EOS together in a review is just fine. But if you threw in lets say 5 other brands, I couldn't keep reading and reading lol. It would seem too much? Unless it was kept limited to basic comparison's between them. Like this one was greasy while this was not etc.

But in the same review if you compare multiple products and practically write a mini review on each one inside one main review, it seems maybe, too much? But this is just my opinion, when I read something that is setup that way I find it hard to keep track of all the comparisons.

Oh and.....You know what I mean? hahahahaha

Well, I do enjoy humor when it comes to products I'm not actually planning to buy myself but when it comes to products I really want? I want the facts. I want to know if I should get them or not.

I try to do both, I like to write like I am talking to a good friend that has never used a sex toy. So I try to get all the info I can while letting my personality show. I like to see/read the all the info on a product and still have something to keep me focused.

I love the personal touches, but I would rather have a serious review than just get something that is more fluff with a personal touch.

I think a touch of humor or just personality are great, though it shouldn't shadow the important product information.

Those of us who do mostly Descriptive Reviews (the ones you see on the Product Pages) have to, almost by definition, keep those review fairly dry and to the point. The thing is, they simultaneously publish as DRs and as regular reviews, leaving some of us who do a lot of DRs looking kind of... dry at times.

And, for DRs, you have to use the Extended Format, although I prefer the shorter format for non-DR reviews.

I've learned that if a review I write as a DR is too personal, it doesn't get used as a DR, so I do try to stay subjective when writing them. And, of late, that's about all I've had time for.

But, I do enjoy well written and well researched reviews with humor and personal touches a lot, too.

I prefer a more serious review, but I do appreciate some added levity within reason.

As long as the necessary informations (whether the product lasts, how it feel, quality) are here, I don't mind humor and even appreciate it.
