Which of these two terms do you prefer?

Well...I seldom write about sex outside of adult boards like this one and I always write "cum". Verb or noun. In the context of adult sex discussions, It's certainly less ambiguous and I don't find it upsettingly vulgar.

Of course, there's not much I DO find disturbingly vulgar--I guess I don't have any purtian genes!

Cum is the actual word describing the act of having an orgasm or the male ejaculate.

Come is the action of going somewhere.

As I have always understood it, "come" is a verb. "Cum" is a noun. I don't particularly like "cum" as a verb or a noun, either. I agree that it has a vulgar feel. I am perfectly comfortable saying, "I had an orgasm," or, "I was able to achieve many intense orgasms with this toy." I don't even say, "I'm going to come!" (cum, whatever) to my husband, because it isn't needed. In my experience, I only hear someone say that in a porno or visual novel.

I can't really articulate why "cum" makes me uncomfortable either. I will admit that, when you're referring to the substance, "sperm" and, God help us, "ejaculate" is awfully clinical. However, it's just what I am most comfortable with.

I don't mind "cum" in erotica or male-written fiction, but I admit it does always look more vulgar when a (mainstream) female writer uses "cum" instead of "come" when she is referring to another female. Not that there's anything wrong with being vulgar...

Hmm, the word "cum" has never bothered me. I've always thought it was weird if someone spelled it like "come".

I kind of imagine "cum" to be more of a noun, like it's the jizz you make. Then "come" is what you do, like you come after you orgasm.

Or you cum and come, ha.

But yeah. That's more of how I use the words. I'm not particular about how others use it, although if I had to choose only one that I would be willing to accept it would be "cum"

I honestly have no preference for either. I typically use the word 'cum' though.
