Other than the obvious. It just came through, so I know it wasn't me sitting around too long.

I believe you can get that message if the student submitted a request to multiple mentors and another accepted. To prevent conflict, the system automatically cancels all other pending requests since a person can only have one mentor at a time. Perhaps someone official can clarify for sure.

Yep. That's exactly it.

Also, it can happen if you have two student requests in queue for you to accept, and you accept one. It auto-cancels the other.

That was going to be my question, because I requested a mentor once and the system had canceled it.

This just happened to me. Should I try requesting that mentor again or look for someone else or?
