Advanced Reviewers and Off-Site Blogs

I'm currently an Eden advanced reviewer. I'm looking to start a blog of my own for reviews. I know that I cannot be part of the "off-site review program" with Eden and also part of the Advanced review program since they are two separate things. However, I'm super confused about if I can post reviews on Eden and on my blog. So, for example, can I sometimes post a full review on my blog with the "Click for full review" link on Eden and sometimes post the full review on Eden with a link to Eden on my blog? Basically interchange back and forth? Or do I have to decide if I want to do 100% on-site or 100% off-site for reviews that will go in both locations?

I want to write reviews for the blog, but I still want to post the blog reviews to Eden, if that makes sense. For products that I purchase out of pocket, not assigned reviews. I'd also still like the availability to post full review directly to Eden though since I really like the format here. I think I've seen some blogs where the review is posted to Eden and then the blog has a link to the Eden review. Does that all make sense? I'm really confused over here, so if that all sounds crazy it's because it's all warbled in my head right now!

All help much appreciated!

I understand what you're saying. I'm wanting to do much of the same thing - partly so I can start reviewing for other places also. What I plan to do is basically post part of the review (the summary and pros/cons) on the blog with a link to the full review.

I think your best bet would be to email partners@ edenfantasys.com and they'll forward your question to the person who is best able to answer it versus asking us here. Hmm...maybe I should do that too?

I always hate to bug support if I don't have to since they are always so busy. lol I usually only harass them with stocking issues since I figure the good forum folk won't have answers on that. I may email to clarify. I have a web address and everything set up and a layout done, so I just need to know if I have to now write twice as many reviews a week or not. Eeep!

There are some guidelines here .

Essentially, you can't have the same text. So, you can write a blurb that's different on your blog, and link to your EF review, or you can write the review on your blog where just the summary, pros, and cons are on EF with a link to the review, but the text can't be the same in both places.

Let me know if that makes sense

Okay, I think I get it. Are you the main contact for the off-site program if I manage to get over my head confused again?

This isn't an "off-site program" but an off-site review, so you will want to contact JR (almon@edenfantasys.co m) as you normally would with any questions about the reviews.

Hope that helps!

After I write a review, I use the 'Get Widget' button on the review page to make a little widget for my blog. Then I post on my blog the Summary, Pros, and Cons and link back to Eden for the full review.

Here's an example.

Okay bare with me because I have a lot of blonde moments. On the page where you edit the review or view the review? I can't seem to find it.

There is a "Get Widget" button at the top of the review page in your account (where you can edit it).

Yeah I'm going to need to pester admin about it AGAIN. I don't think I want to do the offsite review thing and somehow something has gotten confused. I just don't think I'd blog enough to benefit, but I love reviewing on the site, even if I don't request products. It seems easier and user-friendly and it's definitely more accessable.

Click on your 'Account' tab at the top left corner and look on the left had column and click on 'Review Program' which will help explain what options you have to become an Advanced Reviewer. I hope I explained it well! Good luck!

Two ways.

a. Write a minimum of 2 reviews and then go before the community for a vote to become an advanced reviewer. Pretty easy to get the votes as some folks will vote (so it seems) without reading the reviews.

b. The method I prefer is to go through the mentor program. You sign up under a mentor and work with them to do two (or more if needed) reviews. Once they graduate you - you are an advanced reviewer and can request free items to review.

I prefer the mentor program because a mentor can help you learn what the community likes in reviews and what should be included which helps you get higher votes which helps you have a higher rating which helps you be able to get higher priced items for free!

You can read more about the review program and the mentor program with a list of mentors here.
