I'm not "serious" enough of a blogger to want to pay so that I can host my own blog, which is why blogger was my first and remains my only blogging platform (all my past blogs have been set to super-private these days... I liked to share a lot when I was younger!) Blogger is pretty limited, but it's a layout I'm familiar/comfortable with. I also blogged from myspace back when I still had an account, and until recently I used the notes section of my facebook account to do entries as well... but now that I'm mostly done with that, I'm going back to blogger.
I use WordPress, self-hosted by BlueHost. Like Carrie Ann, I have used so many different blogging platforms, having been in the blogging world for, oh about 9 years now. I started very young and of course kick myself in the ass for not keeping a blog I started way back in the day longer because it was kick ass far as ratings are concerned.
I've done a few web design jobs for people who use Blogger and I have to give you people who use it some major props because maybe it's just because I have a lot of knowledge as far as blogging platforms go, but for being so user-friendly, it confuses the hell out of me! Or maybe I'm just used to WordPress, or extremely dense; either of those!
Ditto! Just signed up with HG myself after running into some issues with GoDaddy. Really liking them so far and it's nice not having to worry about my blog being to risqué and offending the sensibilities of the bigwigs at GD. LOL
Blogger cause I am not a techie genius and it is user friendly (and free)... I wish I had more layout options, but I found one that works with my goals.
Yeah they're *really* open-minded. We had a brief problem getting set up (our coding issues, not their fault), and a couple of the reps spent nearly an hour between visiting our site and editing the code. We've noticed in our logs that one of them is still coming in to read the blog regularly .
I use Blogger. I've been told Wordpress is superior and has more options, but I'm not all that tech savvy, and Blogger is pretty user-friendly. Plus, my blog URL is printed on my business cards, so I have to stick with it.
I'm a big fan of self-hosted WordPress. I own a number of sites and self-host all of them. It helps a lot that I've got a heavily tech background so I can work on the backend of a lot of it.
I use WordPress and host it on my own. I also create blogs for people who need help to get their sites up and running and teach them how to modify and add content. My blog is at link if you want to take a look. If anyone needs any help I am somewhat tech savvy and happy to answer questions

Definitely WordPress. It helps that we're both a bit geeky, as we self-host, but it's probably the easiest of any of the blog platforms to get up and running even for tech novices. 2c deposited.
I started with Blogger. If I was doing it again I'd probably use WordPress because it's more customizable. If I had my dream it would probably be self-hosted so that there could be a mix of blog and "ordinary" website, possibly with a forum thrown in.
