Given enough margaritas I'll take it away from ya. Bwahhahhaa

Just...

Someone remind me to keep my glasses on or I'll likely hit a lightbulb with it instead of good bits!

I think it's time for a Pajama party. Mostly girls, but we could let a few special men in. Especially if they are pirates and have tattoo's

(I actually have a blog called the Pajama party. It started a lot like this...)

I have been with the description program from the very beginning, and I would like to say that it has in fact improved. There used to be a separate description section and all text was emailed in...guess what, it took forever to work with and they found something that worked better and faster...the current setup. The program is still new, and I doubt EF would ever stop improving it based off of what I've seen thus far from them.

I can't believe what all went on here in the hours I was offline, and yes, I am one of those people who browse the site every day that I am able to

I started with the Description Program from the beginning, and one of the first things I was told was "Your 'Summary' is going to be the FIRST and often only thing read about the toy." I try to keep this in mind when writing all my descriptions.

Your summaries are about as close to perfection as I can imagine, Dame Demi. Even on toys where your review isn't the product description.

Makes me realize we could all rethink how we summarize a toy to summarize the toy, not the experience or opinion - even in our regular reviews.

I would just like to make a point. I had no idea this project was going on for two months. One day I randomly saw a review/description and had to post here. It seemed almost sort of secretive. I think it might even have been my post on the forums which brought to light that this program even existed to many users and then it also came to light that EF had sort of secretly went out selecting reviewing they thought were top notch and I'm sure I wasn't the only one whose words can be summed up with one word: 'Huh!'

It's not far fetched that someone speak up now, especially because this program is really starting to be active -and- come to light. It's hard to ignore now when most of the reviews released every day seem to be this type.

I know it's a work in progress, which is why posts like this -can- be productive. I have a few reservations myself, which I thought I tried to bring up but maybe I wasn't being harsh enough to get noticed the first time.

Maybe Carrie Ann didn't go about it the best way but I also think that some people took a little extra offense because they are IN the program.

Thank you Adriana, I think that was well said. I think that personal feelings and friendships got in the way of a healthy objective discussion. Many productive things were actually said though.

It's another day. A new start (on one of the longest posts I remember!)

Epiphora, I think I love you =]

Your last paragraph is EXACTLY why I was so happy when the description review program came out. Reviewers might be a little biased, but they are less "sell, sell, sell!" than the old descriptions were, and they are HONEST OPINIONS. When I'm browsing around the older products (with the canned "sexy" descriptions), I rely mostly on reading reviews to decide whether or not I want the product. I have found that the reviews written by our awesome community of reviewers--although there are occasional reviews that make me go "ummm..."--is very reliable and is part of what makes EdenFantasys such a great site to shop at.

And as for reviews being not objective enough, I have been docked a few times because my review was too subjective and I have been very nicely asked to please revise it so it is more objective and focused on the product than my personal experience. The description review program is definitely tightening up the nuts and bolts of the process and things are getting much stricter.

I wasn't trying to take sides at all, so I apologize if I came across that way. I know I brought it up in a forum discussion as well, probably 2 months ago. I wasn't a part of the program from the beginning, so I (like you) had just stumbled across it on the site.

I understand it's not far fetched and I completely agree that the descriptions program has room for improvement, I was just trying to provide a friendly reminder that non verbals can't be picked up in a text only forum. Words can get easily misinterpreted because of that.

I take no offense and do agree that there are improvements that need to be made. This discussion has given me some ideas of what a good summary should be and I hope to implement these.

DAMN! What happened while I was away! Heh, The descriptions program is definitely a work in progress and In The Pink is definitely more than willing to let you know if you've been too subjective. I know this because she has done so to me! Yes, I know...ME of all people! =P .......just kidding! I have my faults as do we all! You have to remember that she started with Eden not so long ago though......with one hell of a mess to deal with to boot! I think she's doing a great job and the description review can grow to be a great thing. I had my reservations about it at first too but, I'm willing to see it through. I always welcome constructive criticism too! Apparently Backseat Boohoo is more than willing to recieve it as well and she really is a sweetheart for that! I would highly recommend just giving it some more time as we are all learning. =)

I have really enjoyed reading these posts. I am hoping that now with a bit more knowledge I can be more objective and consice in my reviews. So far I have been trying to be very objecitve throughout my review untill the experiance part where I try to be very honest about how the product worked for me and my hubby. But even then I try real hard to make the product sound sexy and really sell the item. I am in a constant state of worrying that my reviews are way to long.

any thoughts on the lenght of a review?

Ps. I just realized that this is part of the discription review program thread and not just the review program. I"m sorry if i'm butting in since I am not currently part of the program.

I"m always on the prowl for new ideas of how to make my reviews better.
