#EdenTasks - Upcoming Change

Contributor: Sammi Sammi
There's several in the task market that are spam - under a few different usernames. We'll get them taken care of as soon as we can!

I actually looked at one of those reviews before they were marked as spam... and I immediately unlocked it again, thinking "Fixing that many errors is worth way more than $2.50"---it was so unintelligible that I was going to be sad about the state of education in whatever country the contributor was from.

I'm actually relieved to wake up this morning and find out that it was automated. At least our schools aren't *that* bad.

If a review is that bad, you have the option to send it back to the reviewer to fix first. Doing so does not count as part of your daily allotment. You also have the option to unlock the task if you don't want to wait for the reviewer to respond. In this particular case, the reviews are spam and EF should be notified.

Previously I emailed JR, but I'm not sure if Sammi is the person to contact now.

JR is the one to keep contacting with the spam review reports. Sammi is only around during the evening, so JR has been taking care of that.

I also emailed Kristi to bring it to her attention. Which is now probably in some form a bit redundant. I didn't realize this was already in the process of being taken care of before I emailed her.

Oh! That's nice to know that it doesn't count against the daily allotment if I was to return it to the reviewer.

I think the one I grabbed was actually the first in the series that was posted. Seeing all the identical titles in a row would have been a clue otherwise.

I would have been so much happier if it had occurred to me that it might have been spam...after I unlocked it I wasted a few minutes of my life moping about 'the state of the country and kids these days.' But apparently I mean 'the state of computer programs these days.'

Hey, does that mean they just passed a Turing test?

Have they changed this? It certainly used to count (unless you unlocked it after returning it to the student).

It doesn't count if you unlock it. Forwarding to Admin will count, or at least it used to. That's why I would email JR with questionable reviews instead.

Why is the task market always empty?

[Why is the rum always gone? (Sorry, just had to )]

First, turn off caps lock. Second, click "My Public Profile" in the very top right corner of the page.

With respect--we all make mistakes, and it might be better to welcome our new members with a better impression of us than a verbal smack.

You can also hover over a name/icon in a forum post, and that will bring up their stats, including ranking.

I love the "hovering for more information" thing. Didja know you can hover over the "2 days ago" (or whatever the time frame is) and it actually gives you the date and time? Awesome!

I would either choose a grammar test or rank as the deciding factor, not both. Some people have great grammar skills but have a tough time getting there score high enough. I'm here hours a day, I post, vote, comment, review and all that good stuff but I'm still stuck at a 4.7 because of the fact I'm honest on my review votes & people seek revenge. It's petty and has caused my votes to be fewer by the day. I would highly advise and like to see the name on the vote to be kept hidden. It's not fair that being honest when it's a shitty review causes backlash on a review you wrote that's fantastic to everyone else. That 1 or 2 shitty votes you get on the good review really messes things up. I'm honestly not even interested in editing, I know my grammar is not the best and I can't spell for shit, but I try and I'm happy to have great editors to catch my errors! A test is a need, I have a review or 2 I submitted that just got pushed through (prob for points) and the word plastic and a few others I misspelled in one of my reviews just to see if it would be caught and they didn't even read the fuckin review!! It was approved not even 5 min after I sent it in...

something needs to be done, I see this to much in other reviews I read!!

I don't mean to be rude, but I just looked at every single review you have and you only have votes that are "useful" and "extremely useful"... So I'm not sure why you are complaining about people doing revenge votes...? You have all excellent votes on your reviews

You don't need to do a thing. This just means we have your application and it's on file for consideration at a future date.

Hey Sammi, I was curious if this rotation is still the way reviewers for the Eden Tasks are handled. I submitted an application a couple of weeks ago and it's still pending. I dug around in the forums but I unfortunately couldn't find any posts more recent than this one on the topic.

The newest thread is actually here, and the up to date program information is here . I sent you an email Sunday (2/17)with the program explanation and the test for the next round - I usually send the email and test out once a week. Applications stay on file until the next round, when they're either accepted or declined. Let me know if you got my email (you may want to check your spam folder), and if not, please email me with a current email address.
