Maybe I'm a little slow at the moment (headache), but... what? I submitted an application to become an editor earlier this week... About how long should it take for me to find out whether or not I've been accepted/approved?

Not hearing back is a good thing at this point since it means you are being considered. The information on the Proofreading page is not current as applicants are no longer notified within 48 hours.
