Make sure your 'Preferences' are filled out correctly!

Contributor: Victoria Victoria
When assigning toys, I have repeatedly noticed that many contributors either have no preferences filled out in either Product Type Preference or Product Material Restrictions…or even worse, many of you have chosen ALL materials in the Product Material Restriction list – probably thinking it means you want to review / use toys made from those materials, when in fact those checking those boxes means you choose NOT to receive toys made of those materials.

So, to help ya’ll out, here are easy instructions on how to complete your Preferences in you profile:

Log In --> click on ‘Contributor’ tab –-> click on ‘Settings’ –-> click on ‘Preferences’ –-> click on ‘Product Type Preference’

Check each box for toys that you ARE interested in reviewing. You can also choose to ‘check all’ or check the box at the top of each category to choose all the toys of that type.

Make sure you click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page before navigating to another page.

Next go back to the top of the page...

Click on ‘Settings’ –-> click on ‘Preferences’ –-> click on ‘Product Material Restriction’

Check each box for materials that you do NOT want to receive. I recommend that you do not choose to ‘check all’ – as that means you do wish to review or receive toys made from any materials.

Make sure you click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page before navigating to another page.

And that’s it – all done...all your preferences will be noted

This matters most when I’m trying to assign a toy through Surprise Me or when Rufina assigns toys to those in the Description Review Program, your preferences will rule out many possible assignments for you...so make sure they are accurate!

I totally misread the directions on the materials preference list. It's easy to do because you check what you DO want on the product type preference list, but what you DON'T want on the materials list.

Everyone should double-check!

Just checked mine - I did it right. Hehe.

Just curious, what is WTP material?

WTP is what the Sin Five toys are made from. It's an 8 on the safety scale.

Another quick note. EVERYONE go check their preferences. I had some material restrictions that I know I did not select. They appear to be the newer materials (precious stone, WTP, etc.). Just a heads up!

I had those, too, so that explains it. I totally forgot about the product guides and checked it out right after posting. LOL

I wonder if the words in the list could link to the material guide for ease?

Oh, wow. Stuff was definitely added since I last updated my list.

Ahhh! It distresses me that I had "aluminum" checked as a no-go material because it must've been added later. Argh!
