Ranking

I honestly have no idea how this rating system works. If someone knows I'd appreciate an explanation!
Example: my boyfriend and I both have accounts. He has wrote 4 reviews and gets on the site once a week or so. I have wrote 12 and get on the site and try to be active everyday. His rating is 4.2. Mine is 3.6. I just don't get it! Haha.
I'd hate for you to stop reviewing! If they cap your score at 50, that'd be silly!! I think I remember seeing Dame Demi's fluctuate by 0.1 one day. Hopefully an admin will clear some things up!

We did make that announcement in an email back in May.
However, the rating system is under review right now anyway- I was actually planning on posting here about it to get feedback.
So, for both of you, keep an eye out for that post (with details about how it works now)!

Posting new reviews is obviously not the only way to increase your rating. You can post follow up reviews, comment on other people's reviews, etc. I don't plan on stopping at 50 reviews myself, but it would be nice if we continued to get credit for the new reviews after 50. Then again, when you have some one like Dame Demi in there with 200 reviews, I imagine her rating would be huge if all of her new reviews were counted toward it. Thanks for letting us know that the rating system is under review right now, I'll be looking for the annoncement of any changes.

It's definitely something that was announced, but as the program manager pointed out, it is always changing.

However, as Jimbo mentioned, there are many ways to change your ranking. We want people to be part of the community for the community itself, and not solely for increasing their ranking (anyone could just write reviews of 50 toys then, even if they hadn't used them, in order to boost their ranking). Also, all your reviews can increase your ranking when other people vote on their quality!
