I'm curious who determines quality? I would be much more comfortable if it was Eden employees or if their rating mattered more than regular users. I posted (a very long post, sorry
) in the old thread about my fear of people using an IP masking device to cheat and rate certain people down into the ground and their own up through the roof. There are already a lot of people out there who have excellent reviews with one or two very out-of-place bad rating.
The cap being lifted sounds nice, but I'm a little confused as to how review quantity would count. Would that go under "Activity" ?
Once those 1000 reviews are met, will someone not be able to post any more, or would they just not be taken into account for rank?
Will it be possible to reach a rank of 10 or to do that would ever review have to only get ratings of "extremely useful" ?
Of course I agree that a coupon would be a great incentive, although I can imagine it would benefit some people more than others, and can't we always get a 15% off anyway with using someone's partner code? A 45% discount would be wonderful, but I order several products at one time (10 items this last week) and I don't think it would be fair if I were to get a half off coupon every two weeks. It would be really nice for me, but not exactly cost effective for Eden. I guess I would always have the option to not use it, or to use it for toys not yet reviewed though to make it more ethically acceptable to myself. I do realize though that it's not "normal" to buy so many toys and review.
I also have a question about when this would go into effect and if back reviews over the number of 50 would get credit? I am asking because my SaSi review was my 50th review, but I have 15 items sitting in my assignment cart waiting for me to review them (still doing "research" on most of them). If I did the reviews for them before the change, would they not count towards my rank, or would I get credit for them after the change? Would it be better for me to wait until after the change to do the reviews? With the change, will it add to our current rank, or will everything be recalculated and everyone will have new ranks? It honestly doesn't matter to me either way, but for those who have a high popularity score (definitely not me, lol) would get their rank pulled down quite a bit wouldn't they?
Anyways, I think it sounds pretty good, as long as it is reputable people doing the deciding on the quality of the reviews. Maybe if eden staff had more of a pull than shoppers and fellow reviews did. I really love when a shopper finds my reviews helpful, but it would be kind of scary to know that a handful of unethical people could drag my rank down severely if they so desired.
