declining assignments

If I decline an assignment, how soon will I be assigned a new one? Does the 30 day rule apply? Will I never get any assignemnts ever again?

You will get assignments again. Sometimes they try again in a few days, really, whenever they have something that might suit you. The guys in charge seem to get a feel for what everyone likes, at least it seems that way since I'm almost always happy with what I get assigned.

I declined some bondage stuff a while back though, and I got assigned new things. If you're worried, just try to go pick something else out and request it. Don't feel bad about it. Not everything is for everyone, thats just life. They realize that and will work with you.

You will get assigned new items. However, if you're eligible you can submit requests to review products of your choice that are in your point price range. From the F.A.Q.s...

"In order to receive an assignment, you need to choose the product you would like to review. Sign into your Advanced level contributor account, and click on the tab "Contributor." At the top of the page, you will notice the Contributor Toolbar with a button for your Assignment Cart. Go to any desired product and find the "Grab it" button in the Contributor Toolbar. By clicking on the "Grab it" button, you add the product into your "Assignment Cart", which is its temporary place before your assignment is created. "

Hope that helps.

When I first joined, I worried about turning down assignments, but if you don't think you're going to like it, than there isn't a point in accepting it. Besides there's someone out there who probably will enjoy it

Ditto with the Velvet Sweetheart. I didn't really want to review it, but figured why not, and I ended up really disliking it and it was a hard review to write.

OK, now I'm getting confused. Maybe I'm not doing this right?

I thought we were suppose to submit requests to review products of our choice that are in our price point range. That's what I've been doing.

It sounds like you're saying that EF will just assign new items for me to review?

Should I be waitting and not picking items of my choice to review?

Now I need help.

Thanks you guys! I know about the price points, asignment requests and all that. I'd love to try a clitoral vibrator, it's just that I don't want to receive the "Heart’s desire teaser" for review when it probably won't be strong enough for me.

Can I say that I have only declined one assignment ever, and that was because it was an item that I cannot use for medical reasons. And it was in my profile to not receive it. I even felt bad saying no to that. But I emailed them an explanation as to why I couldn't do it.

I believe there is a give and take to this. We request things we would really like, and if it is possible they say yes. And I seriously appreciate that! They request that we review things that we may or may not like, and if it is possible I say yes. Because they need those things reviewed too.

But I do know you can decline anything. I guess that's just how I feel about it personally.

Ok, I can tell there is confusion here over a few different things. Hopefully I can clear this up for everyone.

First, in order to clear this up here we need to break this down into the four different characteristics that define an assignment - there are more, but let's keep it simple

- Pull Assignments (Assignments Requested by the Contributor)
- Push Assignments (Assignments Created by the Admin)
- Sponsored by Manufacturer
- Sponsored by Eden Fantasys

If you request an assignment, this is what we call a 'PULL' assignment. I you are offered an assignment that you did not request, created by the admin, this is called a 'PUSH' assignment. (these are our behind the scenes terms here).

Almost all assignments are PULL assignments where YOU request the assignment. We do occasionally PUSH assignments when we really need reviews for a certain item, but most of the time we PUSH the manufacturer items to make room for the new ones coming in.

When you receive a PUSH assignment from the Admin, it is up to you whether or not you accept it. You will not be penalized for declining the items if you do not want to review them. Although I do ask that you keep an open mind to the products. Yes sometimes they may fall short, but you never hear any complaints of the times they far exceeded reviewer expectations

Sponsor...

If an item is sponsored by EF, then the 30 day rule is always in place. If an item is sponsored by anyone else beside EF, (Manufacturer Sponsored) then there is no 30 day rule.

I hope this clears things up!

Thanks Gary,

So, I should keep doing what I'm doing and request assignments when I've finished my current assignment/review?

You can still request. They only assign things every now and again. Keep an open mind with assigned stuff. I have had to decline because one item I couldn't use at all, and the other was a cock ring and J is out of the country. I will only decline if I know I can't give an accurate review. Even if I know I won't like the product I review it as if I was someone else. Just because we don't like something doesn't mean no one else will. Each person's taste is different. I like metal and silicone, some people like tpr. We're all different.

LOL agreed. I do decline things if I look at them and KNOW I'm not going to like them because then I feel like my review is going to be biased straight off. If it's something I'm neutral to I just think "well, I can always give it to a friend after I review it."

So is it best to request something? Or to just wait and see what's offered? (And PS-I'm an idiot and wouldn't know how to request something if I wanted to...any help?)

I've been content with all the choices that have been my way....I'm easy---to please!

Either way is fine. If they offer something and you want to, take it. If not and it's time for you to request then do that.
