Follow Up Reviews

Sammi Sammi
I usually do them sometime after 2 months. Sometimes I'll do them sooner, if something has really changed, or they have broken, or I've had them a long time before doing the original review.

I've done mine ranging anywhere from a few days to four months and more after the original review. I feel like, if I have something new to add, I should add it as a follow-up review so that people will be more likely to notice it than if I just slip it into the original review somewhere. I also tend to edit them periodically if there's something else I want to say as a second follow up or an update to the original. I've followed up to say that I've broken the toy, that I found some new information on it or the materials...

Actually, on one review I did on edible underwear, I followed up with just some humorous stuff about different types of edible panties I'd found online...Homemade ones! Bacon, fruit roll-ups, etc. I figured, in that case, there wasn't much I could really say in the way of a "real" follow-up, so I just wanted to add something entertaining

Also, there've been a few times where I reviewed a toy that I had already had for a fairly long time, so I tried to stick mostly to my original impressions of the toy for the main review. Then in the follow-up I would add in my thoughts on it as they are now and what I learned as time went by and I got to know the toy better.

It all depends, I suppose...I think the two month reminder is great, but I think there are some cases where it's acceptable to update with a follow-up shortly after the original review.

I think it's blatantly obvious people are doing more follow ups and doing them fast just to boost their rating, is what I think.

Seriously?

"Weeeee! I still like it! It's a good toy! It makes me cum! How awesome!" is NOT a follow up, especially after just a couple weeks.

Would you write a review that shoddy initially?

Why is it okay to write a follow up review that is basically useless and has NO new info?

It makes me want to deduct from my original vote sometimes.

I don't know if this is true necessarily, or at least I would not want to be lumped into that category. Whenever EF sends me the automated prompt via email to do a follow-up I do so, even if it's with a few lines. I usually don't have anything super new to say unless something broke or I suddenly had a change of heart and learned to love a previously hated toy. I just think it's better to check in and say "Yes, still good, has held up to wear and all of the above information still holds true" than nothing.

As an example of a standard follow-up that I would do. Sometimes there's just not much more to say, you know?

i don't mind follow up reviews later on even if they don't include to much info. i like knowing if the reviewer still liked the item. it bothers me when a review has a following up a day later. i guess i wish the original review was edited to include that info if it was so soon. i do like the suggestion of editing the follow up with dates.

That's a very good follow up, I think.

I'd point out a bad one but... erm... I did that once and boy oh boy, we had a lot of... ahem.... fun for a few weeks.

Fun being drama, of course. Lol.

I can't believe how many of those follow up reviews there are!

I've been thinking about things I could add to a follow up on reviews I've done, but I still want to give it some more time before I actually do, just to make sure it's something at least remotely relevant, lol

I'd say if it were a sex toy, about two months is a reasonable time frame. For a book, maybe six months, to see if you refer back to it or liked it enough to read it again.
