Re-reading and writing a review for a book I already own..

Badass Badass Jan 29, 8:48 am

I read the The Sleeping Beauty trilogy, and after searching far and wide have found them again. They are on Eden, but they have a different look because they came as a box set.

I am going to read them anyways, why not write about them?

The second option shouldn't apply because EF doesn't make you buy your toys only from here to be able to write a review so it shouldn't be any different with a book set. I might mention in the review that you bought these elsewhere and they have a different cover, but are the same product. (something along that line anyway)

Of course it's okay. I've reviewed toys on Eden that I purchased elsewhere. Look on the copyright page and it should say what edition or printing or whatever the book is, and just mention your review is based on that one.

If you haven't written a review on it, go for it. However, if you wrote one some years ago, just add a follow-up comment on the same review. That is what I would do!

I agree with everyone else. I wrote a review on a lingerie piece I've had for ages, and EF just recently started carrying it... I purchased it elsewhere, but wrote my review here.

It's the same content, even though you didn't buy it from EF. Go ahead and do it!

i would think it would be helpful for EF for people to review products outside the company so that they know products they should try to get

There is nothing wrong with writing a review on them.

Why would anyone think you can only review stuff you got from EF?

I loved them when I first read them, as they were some of the first BDSM erotica I ever read, but looking back on them, I see them as rather silly. Some of the punishments they used, such as hanging someone bent double by their wrists and ankles and leaving them there for days, would dislocate all their joints and cripple them for life. As long as the books are accepted as fantasy, and a 'don't try this at home, kinksters' attitude is maintained, it can be a fun and horny read.

Excellent response! I'm a big fan of the books, but only as an extreme fantasy.

Does it matter that my copies don't look like the ones shown on Eden?

I don't think it matters. As I suggested in the other post, you might want to make a comment about it not looking exactly the same but they're from the same author. I do book swapping on swap.com and sometimes I don't get the exact same cover as shown on the product page, but it's the same book by the same author.

Not at all. It is the same story. You can review toys that you buy other places, so books should be fair game too
