Review Program in need of help?

Contributor: markeagleone markeagleone
I believe that the advancement to advanced reviewer needs help. I have read alot of reviews and and alot(my first one included) are lacking for their purpose. I have learned alot since my first one as I became more familiar with what the site is and what is expected. Copying reviews, either word for word or simply changing a few should not be allowed. It's not promoting any product truthfully. Honest reviews only, people. I and others want to know what we are going to buy!!
Is it fair, just for the points or free trials?

I think all new reviewers should have to sign up for the mentor classes instead of being allowed to be voted up on the main page. That being said, it's really not up to me how the process works and people who consistently write bad reviews would probably incur some sort of action from the moderators.

If you know people are copying reviews, please report them to admin. It's not fair to anyone.

copying reviews is against the expectations of conduct here and should be reported immediately.

The mentor program is there to help people with learning the review writing process. Unfortunately you cannot force someone to be part of a voluntary program.

Then I believe advanced should only be obtained through mentors. I have asked for a mentor for help and hope she takes me under her wing.

I agree that there are some flaws in the advanced reviewer program. I personally decided that I would go through the mentoring program first but oddly enough I am not sure I agree that upon completion I should be able to advance. I would personally feel more comforatable with going through the program, learn what you can, and then do more reviews on my own without the helpful eyes of a mentor watching.

For the most part, everyones first review is not the best (there are exceptions) and each review gets better over time. I think that I would rather be advanced because of the usefulness of my reviews (when mine do get published) rather than the low number of two.

We actually had a big discussion about this 5 months ago. I recommend checking it out. link It should address all of your concerns.

In the case of plagiarized reviews, please e-mail me at kristi@edenfantasys.co m with links to the suspected reviews. Thanks!

I honestly think to become advanced, it should be earned through the mentor program. My first review was poor and I learned from comments made about it. I want to give honest, great reviews and read ones that I can count on. I have read some that are as different as night and day, which I understand from a like-dislike point of view, but not in a products details. That would only happen if it's pot luck on manufacturing, and I assume most are mass produced.

I understand that it would be alot of hoops for some, but really I don't think it would be for those whom liked Eden and its members. To me, if it's not the free product for a review that one is after, then there are no real hoops to go through. I want to give people a choice that they can count on and one that serves the community. If mentoring isn't the way to go, then why not let the top ranked ones decide if someone new should advance based on the reviews, not someone just voting for another without reading the reviews? It would be more honest and structured and give a better representation of Eden.

We have discussed this. While a great idea in theory, it isn't doable since there is only a select number of mentors and we all have lives outside of eden. With the rate that eden grows daily, it would be impossible to keep up with. Plus it is dependent upon people wanting to be mentors. Trust me, you will be rewarded for your hard work here. We know when something is legit or not even if we don't catch it right away.

It's not my hard work I'm concerned about. It's the reviews and the new customers coming to the site to have some consistency to the reviews of the products. It's having the most informed decision about whether or not to get a certain product. It's not just the cost of the product, but the experience of using a quality product that will eventually suffer.

I understand there is a huge flow of people joining the site each and every day as this site gets more noticed as a resource. I suppose the best way to go about this is know that I am not alone in this feeling (thanks for the link provided on this topic) and just keep trying to improve on my own reviews, making them the best quality I can. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and insight that they shared.

I think that new reviewers really should have to go via the mentor program to become an advanced reviewer.

With the current system has any upgrade requests ever been denied?? (honest question)
