#AskEden - Will declining a free review hurt my chances of being assigned another free review item?

Contributor: Nyx (Under the Covers) Nyx (Under the Covers)
Hello all,

I'm still new at this, so I apologize if this is a re-post or this information is written somewhere. I just graduated to being an Advanced Reviewer and have been offered a free review of an anal sex toy. I don't receive anal penetration myself, and don't currently have a partner to try this kind of toy out on. [I don't have anal toys checked under my Product Preferences.] So my inclination would be to decline this review. However, I'm wondering whether declining a review would "count against me"? I very much would like to do a free review assignment (I just ordered my first buy-out assignment and am really excited) and want to make sure I'm not mis-stepping.

Any and all advice appreciated Thanks so much!

If it's something you know you will not use or enjoy, decline it. Others are willing to take it. Sometimes you will get sent things that are not on your product preferences. I like to think of this like exploration of sorts. Regardless, the staff at eden are very understanding and know "different strokes"

Declining once in a while shouldn't affect you.

Thanks so much! I declined the product and am crossing my fingers for a free review to be approved soon.

It would be weird if it did. They should understand.

No, it doesn't. JR has said before that it doesn't count against you. They'd rather have someone interested in the product review it than have someone hate something because it's not their preference.

Agreed!! When they have to send the item out for a back up review due to the person accepting an item they do not want, it gets to be expensive and time consuming.

Don't accept items you know you will hate. I have accepted items I was unsure of due to no experience, but wanted to try and loved them. So keep an open mind and get the ones that you know or think you may enjoy.
