Skip the Process of 2 reviews?

Are 2 reviews no longer required to become a verified reviewer? I just saw a reviewer and their very first review on the site was verified.

I dunno: I became a verified reviewer at the end of November and the 2 review requirement was there then...

I thought she may have been referencing this one: link. I'm guessing EF went into the blogging world and selected bloggers. In exchange for a review & publicity maybe they got to bypass the process?

Yep, Toygirl2 found it. link

Those reviews are Off-Site reviews. The bloggers host the majority of the content on their blog and the link and a summary are on our site. I apologize if this was never made clear to our community. If so, it surely was an oversight. If you have questions about the program or the specifics, contact Drew at: drewg@webmerchantsinc. com

I hope this is helpful to you - I don't want anyone to be alarmed or feel slighted.

Thanks!

So, to make sure I have this clear, new reviewers can sign up to do off site reviews and bypass the first 2 unverified reviews and the pricing guidelines?

Sounds like something that would have been great when I started.

No, not at all. Select bloggers have this exception made for them. Again, Drew can answer all your questions about the program. Thanks!

Somebody needs to spank me because I'm feeling a bit like a brat. I'm guessing the business reason for this and the newer program of reviews posted offsite is to in general increase traffic to Eden. A valid business reason.

However, I think some decisions are being made at the cost of the current review community, and the strongest and most knowledgeable reviewers aren't going to stick around. There have already been several threads about requesting items about your price limit (possible) and difficulty in finding items. It now seems that new reviewers that are offsite get a higher priority. I've also heard that you can request toys sooner than within the one month if you are publishing offsite.

Is there actually real benefit in being a senior or high-ranking reviewer? (Except being willing to occasionally ask for and receive an item about the standard limit?)

As many of you know, we publicly launched our new Off-Site Review Program a few weeks ago link
We are now starting to have some of the off-site reviews coming in and I realize that this may be confusing for some of you. I should have addressed this in my original post to avoid a thread like this one, and I apologize.

Recently, I have reached out to select bloggers by inviting them to become new members of the community and host reviews on their blogs in an effort to create an open discourse about sexuality. It is not simply a marketing tool but an effort to increase our community and its resources. I hope that these new members can share their unique insights and perspectives with us while helping to broaden the horizons of their own existing readers.

In order to do this, their profiles have been advanced/verified after a thorough review of their blog, their writing style, history and a discussion about their attitude towards the Eden Fantasys community.
This also means that every request for an assigned or “free” off-site review is carefully considered before being accepted regardless of the requester.

The off-site review program is open to all of our contributors who have an existing blog; however, each request will be reviewed individually and all are held to the same standards. There is also the option to write an unassigned off-site review which is available to all contributors. I hope that our members with their own established blogs/sites feel free to utilize this option and show us how creative they can be.

I welcome any and all questions you might have about the program. Please contact me directly via email drewg@webmerchantsinc. com.

Thanks.

Not that this has anything to do with the topic at hand, but you always need to be spanked, DBD.

To your last question: bragging rights, maybe? For me, it's more of a personal accomplishment, and I like the idea that people would see I've tried out a variety of things and would feel comfortable asking me questions.

(Can you feel the neeeeerd toniiiiiight...)

Well, YES. I certain do. Hard. However, that is an extreme rarity. I get bothersome little pats. And yes, I can be a provoking brat as well.

Thanks DrewG...

I was actually approached by the last program manager to do reviews on my blog, separate from my on-site reviews. With the management shifts and whatnot I hadn't heard anything back in awhile so I recently asked what was up.

I was told the toy I really wanted to review was "too expensive" for a first review. (Despite my 14 on-site reviews)

It was six dollars more than the toy linked to in this thread that was reviewed by a first time reviewer.

I'm not feeling like there's much of a benefit to being a long time reviewer. (Not that a little over a year is LONG but it's longer than never. Lol)

Someone spank me, too???????

You should email Drew directly about that. I can see why you'd be frustrated.

I did.

I've just decided to stick with my on-site reviews. I like them. They're enjoyable. They help the site and don't cause me any stress. Lol.

I know, technically, you have to have 15 reviews before you can request something over $50. Writing up some reviews of products you've purchased (rather than just free ones) should help. I've only been here since May and have done a lot of my reviews with products I've purchased.

Yeah, I know. I'm on my 15th review right now.

Which is why it astounded me that someone with no previous reviews got to do something priced at $60 but I was limited.

Again, no biggie. My only point was to agree with DBD that that sort of thing sort of leaves the folks who have been around awhile feeling crappy.
