New Here, but finding my way around!

Contributor: gretsch1963 gretsch1963
As our profile states, we are a 20 something couple at the beginnings of exploring all things "adult" oriented. We never pegged ourselves as being a part of a community like this, but we are excited to contribute in a meaningful way by reviewing products as we use them. We have submitted our first two reviews and look forward to becoming an "Advanced" reviewers in the not to distant future. Since we need votes to get there, we figured the forums would be a good place to start getting involved.

Looking forward to learning and helping others along the way!

Welcome to the community. If you haven't considered it yet, take a look at the mentor program- it's very helpful, and will let you get some one-on-one critique on your reviews. You also get promoted to advanced after passing through a mentor's class!

Thanks for the advice. Have seen this on the forums. Just completed our first two reviews. We are excited about being advanced reviewers in the not to distant future but will have to decide between the mentoring program and the standard voting system. Do you know if it is possible for the mentor to use the first two reviews that have already been published as part of the class?

Yup. Gotta be two new reviews, but the nice part is that you can get free products to try out for said reviews.

I always recommend the Mentor program to new contributors.

After completing our first two reviews we have submitted ourselves to the vote of the community to become advanced. After talking with at least one mentor, we look forward to improving our skills as reviewers, even outside the mentor program.

We've got at least one more review that will be done in the next couple days (a review about our first ever vibe!), and with any luck, look forward to beginning our Advanced Reviewer duties with new product in the not to distant future.

Thanks again to all for making this a welcoming place. We tend to fall far closer to the conservative end of the spectrum when it comes to the topics generally discussed in this community, and it will likely show in our reviews, but we hope that we can bring a fresh prospective to all.

CONGRATS! I would suggest the mentor program as well. Before trying to become advanced instantly, it's a good idea to get to know things and focus on reviews first. That's just my opinion and what worked best for me.
