Upgrade Request: Community Vote #11 (4 polls) - ends at 7:30 pm EST on Tuesday, May 19th.
The standard info:
We decided it would be great to increase interaction in the community by having most of the Advanced Level upgrade requests be determined by peers, the reviewers in this community. This is a voting poll, open to any contributor to vote ‘YES’ for the Basic Level requesters listed within this poll. (We are not voting NO on anyone, as I believe everyone needs a chance to improve and shouldn’t be outright declined.) So, anyone not approved in this round will get put up again in the next round (if it is their first round) – which gives them time to work on their writing and overall activity. After two consecutive weeks of being posted, they go to the “back of the line”, so to speak, until their turn comes up again.
All 4 voting polls for this batch of requesters ends on Tuesday (May 19th) evening at 7:30pm. Every batch /voting thread is open for 5 days and will generally start on Thursday afternoon and end on Tuesday night – so you’ll have the entire weekend to look through the requesters. The list of the newly approved upgrade requests (aka new Advanced Level contributors) will be posted the Wednesday following within the threads for the polls they are listed on.
This is a wonderful opportunity to break the ice with some new members of the community and hopefully opens up relationships, mentoring and greater communication overall.
Instruction for Voters (members of the community): Your votes should mostly be based on the writing quality in reviews and overall activity in the community. Only vote for the people you feel should be upgraded. It’s easy, as each links directly to their profiles and therefore to their reviews. It’s a simple process; you just click on the requesters you wish to vote ‘YES’ for and submit your vote when you are totally done with choosing for that group of 5. You will not be able to change your vote once you submit it. They’ll all be counted, as long as it’s within the 5 days. Anyone with an asterisk next to their name is in their second round of voting. If you voted for them in the last batch, it does not carry over – so you would need to vote for them again. Please refrain from making any commentary about specific requester’s reviews or habits, and instead please send them direct messages if you wish to give them feedback or advice.
Instruction for Requesters (that are on the list below): You have the option of posting bits about yourself in this voting thread. These posts shouldn’t be directed at any one person; they should be general statements. You can talk about why you like Eden, your take on reviews, the forums or any other opinion or information you choose to share. It’s completely up to you. If you do not get upgraded during this round, you will go to the next round (2nd week). In this case, it may be wise for you to become more active and give yourself a boost. Possibly posting on the voting thread about yourself as well.
Anyone who is up for second round votes has an asterisk next to their name. If you do not get sufficient votes for upgrade in the second round, you will go to the end of the queue to be brought back for vote in turn (usually a few weeks). Which gives you time to become more active on the forums, submit new reviews and improve overall.
Please note: Some of the requesters in this batch are from the very beginning – as the queue has come back around. You can tell by the break in dates, it goes from May back to various registration dates. I did not mark these with an asterisk as these are back up for another 2 rounds.
The info listed for each requester below is their screen name, registration date and number of reviews. The name links to their public profile, which is where anyone interested in voting should look for reviews and rank.
We decided it would be most fair to put up the batches in order of request date – starting with the oldest requests. Don’t be surprised if you see some that do not have recent reviews. I will be sending each of the 20 total people in the 4 polls a message alerting them to these threads/polls and explaining the process – so that everyone is aware and able to participate as they see fit.
Good luck and happy voting!
