Although I only recently joined the Eden Fantasys community I'm already hooked! I've already submitted an upgrade request and I would really appreciate it if you'd take a look and give me some feedback.

While I plan on joining the mentorship program once I become an advanced reviewer (the very fact that there is a mentorship program is one of the aspects of the community that really appeals to me), is there anything I should be doing now to improve my application and the quality of my reviews?

On a more general note, any tips or advice you wished you'd gotten when you first joined?

A heads-up for anyone else interested in the mentorship program or becoming an advanced member: it looks like I misunderstood how the review program works.

In essence, there appears to be two possible pathways to becoming an advanced member: via the mentorship program or via community vote (although it may be possible to follow some combination of the two or to enrol in the mentorship program even after community vote).

Hot N' Sexy TexasMama gives a fantastic overview of the program in this thread.

While I plan on enrolling in the mentorship program straight away, I'd still appreciate any feedback you have.

The Mentor Program is designed to give you that kind of feedback. I think you'll really enjoy it!

You can enroll in the Mentor Program any time you wish. I recommend doing it before you become an advanced reviewer because when you graduate from the class, you instantly become an advanced reviewer. But you can find a Mentor after becoming an Advanced Reviewer too. There may be some mentors who don't accept advanced reviewers as students, but I think most should and do.

Make sure that when you sign up apply to a class that you have expectations about what you will do and in what time frame as well as what you expect from your mentor. This will go a long way towards helping you succeed here and will make the classes easier IMHO if both parties know what is expected up front.

That's great news! I enrolled in the Mentor program as soon as I learned I was eligible (I currently have a request pending). It's good to confirm that even if I become an advanced member via the voting process I can still participate.
