Based on my own experiences, I would recommend trying anal beads first and then trying the butt plug. Anal beads tend to be smaller in diameter so they can be easier for a first timer to insert. It really depends on the person, though.

It all depends on what size plug and what size beads. My beads are bigger in diameter than my plug [it is pretty small]. So my choice is my plug, but either way it takes getting used to the toy to pick a preference.

I prefer beads because I like the sensation of slipping in and out. I like the ones with varying diameter most.

Agreed. Beads are for feeling the in and out sensations where plugs are for just feeling full.

Depends on what you prefer, but anal beads would be best to some extent. There's some that start off really small and slowly get large, which is great practice.
