My boyfriend and I want to purchase a strap-on kit, so that we can try pegging. We have looked at a few, but it seems that all the realistic dildos are rubber, and we have (basically), a no rubber rule in place when purchasing toys. He is looking at the Slim Jim, and the Perk the most for a strap on set.

I can't seem to find anything that is realistic, that isn't so expensive I'd want to cry that isn't rubber. Can anyone help? He says that he believes if he gets the Slim Jim, he will become bored with it very quickly. Can anyone offer suggestions of other things to try that aren't too expensive, aren't rubber (silicone would be good), are some-what realistic, and are close to the dimensions of the Slim Jim?

You should look at the Vixskin selection, I think you might like the Raquel. There is also the Mistress. I know those aren't overly realistic, but the smaller ones tend to be less realistic.

The Silk Medium is an often-suggested beginner pegging dildo, though it's not really realistic. If you're looking for shape and not color for the realism, the O2 Cush might be an option. O2 Mark is a more realistic alternative, though both are thicker than what you're looking for.

If truly realistic and silicone is what you are looking for though, you're going to have to pay for it.

Almost (if not all) of these are on sale right now. I put them in the price category that they would fall into when NOT on sale. Also, out of curiosity, is the reason for realistic for gender role-play or for blow jobs? In other words, why are you only interested in realistic? (not that it matters, I'm just curious and nosy!)

Mid price range (between $35-60):

The Leo isn't too expensive, isn't rubber, and comes in these realistic colors:





However it is 1 1/2 inches diameter instead of the 1 1/4 inches of the Slim Jim.

I'd suggest getting a solid well-made harness with an O-ring and then swap out dildos. You get the most variety and comfort that way.

BBW is on the right track with dildos though.

Oooh, harnesses. YUMMMM!

Keep in mind with harnesses that if you decide to invest in a leather harness, you are only wearing that with one partner. No sterilizing the leather. So if you break up, the harness breaks up too.

There are lots of amazing harnesses out there. I can't even begin to give you suggestions without knowing what you're interested in and what your hip size is.

Have you considered purchasing the harness and dildo separately?

If you know that you will enjoy strap-on play then I would definitely recommend focusing on purchasing a quality harness. You could then pair it with a high quality silicone dildo ...or several of your choice. I think you'll have much better results that way.


As far as harnesses, the Spareparts harness is quite popular. It is a little pricey though especially for a beginner.



Others have recommended some great dildos to consider. I'd suggest sticking with 100% silicone. Tantus, Vixen and Happy Valley offer a great assortment of sizes and shapes. I'll also add the Sedeux Flare to the list of Dildos to consider. It is reasonably priced and a good size for a beginner.

Seriously, thank you all We are looking at a few, and we liked some of what was mentioned and are considering it. We have come down to two harnesses we are looking at trying, and two or three dildos to buy along with it
