Saying that a man who likes prostate play is gay is exactly like saying that a woman who likes clit play is a lesbian. Just because those activities aren't typically the focus of conventional heterosexual sex doesn't mean it's not heterosexual.

My husband found some toys that I had planned on introducing to spice things up before I had the chance to tell him about them. He was so upset at first thinking that I was trying to replace him and that I got them because he wasn't pleasing me. But he wasn't upset for long and really warmed up to the idea of toys, he loves using them now. I'm really sorry about what's happening with your situation, I know it sucks. I hope your wife will understand and accept that part of you.

As for the gay thing, I would hope that your wife would be confident enough in knowing whether or not you are gay. If you're still having difficulties, perhaps bring up the fact that anal play, and specifically butt plugs, can be enjoyed by male or female, gay or straight. The only real criteria is that the wearer has an anus!
Hell, consensually getting a partner into your kinks through open, honest discussion may become a priceless relationship/marital aid.
