Maybe a 1 1/2 may be a little to begin with you waqnt it to be enjoyable not have pain, I would try something smaller to start with, later you can go bigger, but it's up to you the first plug I purchased was 1 1/2 and it just would fit.

Think big - start small If you want to get into the anal play area with comfort and ease I guess the best thing is to start with smaller dildo like the:

Blush UR3 Anal Starter

or a silicone alternative:
Sedeux Please

To grow up I'd suggest:
Pure Skin Player jr

The silicone alternative is:
VIP Super Soft

For Butt Plugs:

The best training of all times (after you grow out of the beginners toys):
Triple Ripple

Best Butt Plug (I guess many will agree):
Ryder

And finally my personal favorite among plugs:
Gapers Organic

Generally speaking that's my product advice. For lubes you have to look for yourself what suits you more. Just don't use silicone lube on silicone toys, it really kills them. The rest as usual, hygiene, foreplay, foreplay, lube -> and plenty of fun

EF has a beginner's set in silicone that's on the main page. It looks excellent. You want to get something comfortable to start with, or you'll never use it.

I would start with something smaller and then work up to this size. Try perhaps the Plug of Lust - small or a smaller dildo like the Silk - Small or Medium.

The Doc Johnson Mood plugs would be good as well. They're silicone and come in small, medium, and large sizes.

The thing to remember is that glass, while very nice, has zero give. This means a glass toy will feel larger than a squishier toy of the same size. That is why first timers are better off trying softer materials.

Definitely go with something smaller and a soft material. I used a basic silicone, and I found that, with lubricant, was perfect- so I reiterate Yaoi Pervette. The Doc Johnson Mood would be good because they do have the different sizes. However, you may just want to get one small plug in case you don't like it.
