I want to try anal sex but Last time I tried it was painful and turned me off from sex completely... I figured a small plug would be a good way to wean me on to anal play in general. What plugs and/or anal starters would you recommend?

There's a silicone beginner's kit that has three different small plugs in it, that's a great place to start. Just be sure to use plenty of lube, and go slow -- if it hurts, you're either going too fast or you haven't used enough lube.

The first anal plug I enjoyed was the luxotiq metal anal plug. The tip is the size of a finger and it has a gradual taper. I still like it!

You can specify length and circumference when you search for items on here. I'd suggest doing that, then compare as many that appeal to you.

Use lots of lube, start out using a finger, then two, then the toy. If it were me, I'd try and get used to having something in there by yourself, so there's no pressure to go further than you are ready for. Then, when you've gotten up to the size of the BF's, penis, surprise him.

I'd say all of the posters are moving too fast. To start with explore external stimulation. Get yourself excited with genital stimulation and then add in some external anal stimulation with a lubricated finger. Don't insert the finger, just explore the sensations of external stimulation. Once you are comfortable with those and learn to enjoy them then you can move on to anal penetration with a finger or small toy.

Take plenty of time - months or longer if necessary. What you need to do is learn that you can enjoy anal play and that it doesn't hurt when done right. Start on your own, then include your partner as you start back with the finger play (you have to learn to trust your partner and your partner has to learn how you work).
