I don't see how it would be likely to help medically, but then again I don't see how it would be likely to hurt. It's all in the feelings and the anticipation.
I don't do 8-hour sessions usually (did one or two to give it a try), but wearing a plug for a while does keep you stimulated and helps you to get ready if you're planning on receiving anal play later. It does get more intense the longer you have the plug in, especially for big toys, and lube choice becomes important so you don't have a dry plug at the end or messy clothes.

This really helps me to understand the will to do so for so long. The longest I have tried is an hour but it just doesn't feel comfortable to me.
