Question About Anal Vibrator Safety....

Contributor: Breas Breas
I don't participate in anal play but have read quite a bit of information about these types of toys. I was always under the impression that a toy needs a flared base to be considered "safe".

I'm wondering, does the flared base become unnecessary if a toy is past a certain length? I recently received an assignment, which I thought was a vibrator to use vaginally but after looking into it, it's actually supposed to be used anally..... and this toy has no flared base whatsoever but has a length of 8 3/4 inches.

My initial thought was "okay, how is this marketed as an anal toy?" but then I went and read another person's review on the toy and they said they used it anally and said that it was the best use for the toy....

So I'm just confused now lol! Is a flared base an absolute MUST for anal vibrators, or at least to recommend them safely?

Thanks so much in advance!

Flared bases are the best way to ensure that a toy is completely anal-safe. However, there are a few other ways which anal toys are built - most commonly by having such an extreme curve that it stays "hooked" outside the body (like the Rude Boy, for example) or by being long enough that a firm grip can be maintained.

Rule of thumb for the latter: if you're able to get your whole fist around the end of a toy and not let go of it while it's inserted, then it's probably okay. The more length, the better.

When a toy hits a certain length, it will actually take more effort to "make it lost" then for it to accidentally get lost.

There's also a difference between a hands free anal toy and a hands required anal toy. An anal toy with a base can be warn, sat on, and used for long term wear. Toys without a base are more interactive and cannot be used hands free or for long term wear. They can also be used for warming up t a bigger toy.

Hope that helps!
