which set up would you choose as a first strap on set up?

I am having some trouble deciding which strap on set up to choose as our first. I know i like the tantus line of dildos, and the bend over beginner set looks great. I am pretty sure the harness will be great for her, but im open to suggestions. My wife is interested in doing me doggy style, as well as missionary position, and i enjoy toys around 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and i only have experience with smooth toys. (and i kind of like the penis shape of the slim jim!)

so help me decide which set up to go with! your honesty is appreciated.

oh and if you can give a reason after voting why, that would be great!

Oh or would a harness free set up work well, im not sure about them for use on anal, since it may have more friction, and therefor be less likely to stay put. thanks!

I just did a review on the "Uninhibited 2 Ring Harness," and they have a version with dildo, that I think would be perfect for your needs. It's called "The Double Ring Harness with Dildo" it's Cal Exotics, and has a dildo with a diameter of 1 1/4. I would definitely check it out!

We started with the bend over beginner kit a long while back and it's lasted us for many years now. Definitely a good place to start. At some point we may upgrade to the Spare Parts harness, but for now this works just fine.

For a first setup you'll want a harness. It's hard enough to figure out positions, movement, angles, etc. without having to worry about your cock falling off. I'm a man, but for this post I'm including some things from my partner's experiences.

Bend Over Beginner is an OK width, but the Small Silk dildo is so short that you need to be careful or it will come out. Sometimes this might be a good thing for a first peg, since it forces things to be slow, but my guess is you'll rapidly outgrow it and it will become frustrating. Vixen's Smooth Operator is more expensive, but longer.

Start off with a decent jock-style harness. It holds things a bit firmer. If you don't want to spring for one of the excellent Aslan/Outlaw harnesses, the Sportsheets jocks are pretty good and reasonably priced. I have a Latigo Leather (out of the Curve Kit) that's quite nice for the price.

The Tantus Curve is a great dildo. It hits all the right spots on guys, is big enough to be felt and long enough to let you really get into the fucking if you're the giver, but short enough that it doesn't get uncomfortable. There's a little bit of texture for interest, but it's not aggressive enough that it irritates/hurts if you're going fast and hard or you tense up your anus. You need to play around with fingers and plugs until you're comfortable with its 1-3/8" diameter, but it's worth it.

great thanks, yeah i agree with your input on the beginner kit. the small looks very small. I already use the G Rock with my wife, that is i think 1.25 inches.

I was considering the bend over beginner (intermediate) but the $100 price is a bit much, and the large silk looks too big for me. actually i just checked, its only 1.25 inches, the medium silk is 1.1 inches (tantusinc.com) so thats what im using already.

the acute is only 1.25 inches i diameter, and is also bumpy down the shaft, though isn't doesn't seem to have as wide of a base as the curve for harness control.

the vip looks yummy but is a bibt large and $$$

the happy valley slim jim is also an option, though close up pictures make it look cheaper than tantus toys

i think either the acute, curve, or bend over beginner (intermediate) kit

thanks for the reply!

If you're a guy who's going to be on the receiving end I'd definitely recommend looking for a toy with a noticeable curve in it. That way the dildo can be oriented to rub up against your prostate on every thrust (note that sometimes this requires the dildo to point down, for instance if you're doing doggy style. It might look a little funny at first, but it feels great).

The Silks don't have as much of a curve as it looks from the pictures.

i see, goof point, the silks dont have much curve from the looks of them, the acute does have a slight curve, not as much as the curve, the curve looks kind of crazy, but that might just do the trick.

We don't have the Curve, but my boyfriend loves the shape of the Acute. The bulbous head is more noticeable than it looks, which accentuates the curve. The length is good (assuming moderately sized individuals), long enough to reach the prostate, but not so long that it gets uncomfortable with deep thrusts. It's overall a very comfortable dildo. The base is kind of flimsy, but we haven't had any trouble with it coming out of the harness when we got rough.

Great, that is what i was hoping for. I think i may go with the acute. I think i would like the feeling of the head for stimulation. By the way, i love your short bio, sounds like you perfect for this sort of thing, reviewing that is...

My wife and I picked up the Mia-Z by Outlaw as our first harness and couldn't be happier with it. It fits well, holds well, and is very comfortable. Jock style and pretty versatile as well, it would get my vote if you could spring for it. Can't attest to any others but I hope you find the right one for you.

My old nylon webbing harness didn't chafe. If you use it in the shower, you need to re-cinch it down once it's wet, because it will stretch.

I've never gotten to try a leather harness, so I can't tell you about them, sorry.

I would suggest a jock style rather then a thong for stability. Aslan leather (Jaguar) are awesome as are the new Spare Parts (not leather) and super for water play, as well.
Quality makes a difference, my first cheap harness was terrible and I was hesitant to try strap-on for a time.

We use Bend Over Beginner Kit. The harness has a vibrator that stimulates her clitoris while she does me. The dildos that come with it are small and we have added others as we became more comfortable with it. Our favorite now is Vibrating Mistress. It is 6 inches long and a little over 1.25 inch diameter. I prefer a maximum of around 1.25 inch diameter, but even 7 inches long is fine. It is so erotic to see her wearing the dildo as she talks dirty about her dick as she rubs lube on it. She inserts it in me and jerks me off. We usually cum together. She fucks me about once a week.

sounds great, does the dildo position right over her clit? in the pictures it looks very high, almost above the pubic bone

Bend Over Beginner has one of the Sportsheets harnesses in there (so does the Curve Kit). They're pretty good, definitely good vaule, and you have a bit of flexability over how low you want it to go.

Having the dildo a bit higher over the pubic bone can sometimes be easier, since it's a more firm area and gives better support, but a low-mounted dildo (the top hits the pubic bone, the bottom over the clit) is definitely more stimulating and gives a longer thrust as well.

Aslan harnesses are great as well, Commando has pretty good reviews. The thing about harnesses where the straps attach to the O-ring is that it can pull the O-ring wider when cinched down, causing a loose dildo to come out. A metal O-ring solves this, though.

I have a Curve and it feels great - hits the P-spot every time. Personally I wish it were a bit bigger, though.

I totally agree, but get the vegan Commando. The leather one bleeds. I wish the curve was bigger too!

Great yeah i read that online too, but only from one (now two) people. i also heard that a metal ring would be more beneficial. Where can we get one of those?

man, i wish the leather didn't bleed...

I have the Aslan Jaguar in dark red. I do usually perspire resulting in the harness being damp when I am finished. I have not noticed any "bleed" from the red leather (it would be rather obvious) Though the O ring is not metal it does support my various dils firmly and during vigorous thrusting.
The Spare Parts is also an option, not leather and totally washable and stays in place hitting my clit just right.

The Commando/Sportsheets nylon harnesses have straps that pull on the O-ring (look at the picture here link ) It's harder to see on the Sportsheets harnesses, because the backing plates are in place in the photos.

The Commando has a full waist strap, whereas the Sportsheets harnesses attach the waist strap to the O-ring. In either case as you tighten the straps connected with the O-ring you tend to stretch the O-ring out. (The Commando style would also tend to naturally position the dildo a bit lower as well, which could be good if the wearer wants a lower positioned dildo).

You can get metal O-rings many places. Eden has them here link and here link, and you local hardware or craft store might even have some.

ok i know its been a while, but after a long search we finally have our strapon setup. We decided to go with the spareparts strapon and a tantus curve dildo. The curve is a little larger than i thought it would be, but honestly it feels super good inside me. Anyways, thanks or all your support!

You're talking about the harness part, which is important but the dildo is equally important.
