More than 2.25 inches in diameter would be just awful. Even 2 inches is a tight squeeze for me.

The biggest I've taken so far is a max 2" in diameter. Haven't tried anything larger then that although I probability will someday. I like butt plugs of all size depending on what I'm in the mood for.

It depends on the individual person. My limit for "put it in and go" plugs is about 2" diameter, but I have some very nice ones in the 2.5" range that come out every once and a while when I'm willing to take the time to get them in. As long as you can trust yourself (or your partner, depending on how you play) to not push yourself too hard there isn't really a "too big", just a "not all the way there".

That said it's probably a good idea to use fingers to see how much you can take comfortably. Put on a glove and slide as many fingers as feels comfortable as far in as you can (comfortably), then pull the glove off, put a string around your hand where your anus rested and measure that for max circumference.

I like 4 1/2 - 4 3/4" circumference. 5" is a bit too large for me.

I stay under a 2 inch diameter. I prefer about 1.5 inch diameter, around 3 inch insertable length. Softer toys like jelly or really soft silicone, I enjoy larger 1.75 wide x 5 long
