For beginners, as I was when I bought it, I'd recommend the Icicles no. 8, it's lovely, intriguing and feels good to boot. But the Snake of Paradise is a beautiful toy I would love to get my paws on ^_^ I also would definitely NOT recommend the Taffy Tickler. Those rubber things collect EVERYTHING. Blech.

I just started collecting glass toys since the facebook friends discounts have started. I got both of mine for $7.50 each, LOVE the rainbow nubby for anal play, but hurts vaginally (odd, I thought it would be the other way around if at all) I am waiting for my second one, since I just bought it yesterday, lol.

What is it about glass toys that is most appealing? Since these toys are often more expensive is value so important with glass toys or is it more about quality and aesthetic design concerns?

Lol - I could never display one of these in the living room. Well, maybe the snake .

I think it's more the aesthetic design and their usefulness. Although, I will admit, I do have a glass candy cane.

I think design (shape, function, execution) & colour (how it catches the eye) are foremost; secondary would be value & storage packaging. Heavily padded bags always get more of my immediate attention, though that can be sacrificed for greater benefits in design, colour and value.

The price is definitely the first and foremost consideration. The shape and feel is also important, and I want colors that please the eye even if the piece isn't the most artsy one out there. I have glass butt plugs that are both solid colors, and I have no problem with the fact that their coloring isn't fancy. Mostly it's about the feel for me, though. I like getting a feel for the weight and the texture and the curvature of the actual toy before buying it, which is actually one reason I've never purchased a glass toy online.

I would love to display the snake of paradise it just looks so cool! I have displayed my glass wand as a wand and gotten a few funny comments. It's a great conversation starter! The waterfall type toys look almost like they could be blown glass art so with a pretty wooden stand or just a highly polished wooden block as a stand it could be the most functional art you ever owned. LOL I'd definately display mine.

I look for price, quality, design and uniqueness though I look forward to the day when I don't have to list price first...you know after I win the lottery!

I look for texture, shape and color. It has to be easy to hold with some texture and a curve(s).

Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that hard, very bumpy surfaces like those on the mega nubby cause me a great deal of pain, so those are all out of the question for me, drool-worthy though they are. I have a simple glass dildo (which is unfortunately not offered on EF) that has a shape between the icicle and the sapphire waterfall. We both absolutely adore it, and if we hadn't just made a large toy purchase or two, the sapphire waterfall would be high on the list of things to get next.

I think I'd go either with the snake or the Indigo intruder (correction - the Indigo intruder. My wife says that she doesn't like snakes and there's no way one is going *there*).

It's curved (curves make it easier to find the spots in any case and insertion for anal play is easier), smooth, and has a nice head.

The new SSA options aren't on this list, because it predates them.
