Hi there,

Long story short, I have issues with men and have never before experimented with penetration, but now I'm interested in trying it. I definitely want to do it on my own, and not go find some random partner. So I'm wondering, what dildo would people recommend for complete-beginner penetration? I want something that will be easy to start with, but will also continue to satisfy me after I've gotten used to it, which is why I'm hesitant to buy one of the super-small ones like the Silk small.

I've been eyeing the Sedeux Flare, but what do you guys think?

Your first question will probably be do you want texture or not. That's your choice. I'd recommend getting something with a bit of a head on it and a curve to increase stimulation, and I'd definitely recommend silicone for a first toy (most other soft materials are hard to keep clean/sanitize, and hard materials can be difficult to manipulate).

I've read in a lot of reviews that people often find heavily textured dildos to be fairly intense, especially during prolonged play sessions, so I don't think that's something I would want for the first one.

I'm definitely planning on going with silicone. I should also add that, ideally, I'd like one that's good for both vaginal and anal.

I think you definitely want to go with something that has a little curve to it. Some suggestions to check out are, Tantus Acute, the Curve, or the O2 Niagara. Also the Vixen Smooth Operator is nice and has the option to put a bullet vibe in the base.

Thanks for the input! I like the Acute; it's a little smaller and less expensive than the Curve. A common complaint is that it's too squishy, but I guess that's a good thing.

My wive loves the Cyberskin dildo. She says it feels almost real and it's not that big.

I hope you like it. And yes, squishy is probably a good thing for your first time. Actually I prefer silicone toys over the hard materials like glass, metal and wood.
