It depends what type of material they are made out of. I rather buy a not so cheap condom than have an expensive medical problem later.

I don't cover my dildos with condoms, because they're only used vaginally. If you buy condoms in bulk packages at certain places, they only cost about 26 cents a piece, not expensive at all.

I always buy nonporous toys that don't need to be covered with a condom, so no, I don't use condoms on them, unless I want to test out a vaginal toy anally.

Idecided pretty early on that I preferred not to mess with condoms, especially on the bigger toys. I get sanitizable/nonporous/ bodysafe toys only so I don't have to worry.
