I said silicone but really I like both. I do like softer toys better so I guess if I had to choose I'd most often choose silicone. But glass toys definitely are pretty awesome and one area where I like them much better than silicone is that I can use any lubrication with them. That's awesome for me because we have an oil based lubricant that we love and I can't use that with my silicone toys
I prefer silicone for several reasons. It is more supple than glass, and it won't break easily. Although I think the glass dildos and butt plugs are beautiful and would like to try one, My Man will not allow me to. He is really afraid it may break and hurt me, so glass is not an option.
I really like silicone, it's tasteless, it starts out slightly cool (and you can cool or warm it if you want) and then warms to body temperature nicely. For thrust play, I like something that bends slightly and is soft. Most of our toys are silicone.
It really depends on what you are looking for. I know a LOT of people love glass, but I think it has limitations. If I wanted the good things about glass, I think I would buy a steel toy. I really like many of the NJoy toys we have been showing.
I voted for silicone because it won't break as easily and has some give to it, but it really depends what your looking for.If beauty (one thing I really like about glass is that even if it fails to get the job done I can still enjoy my new phallic glass sculpture, lube compatibility or temp play are a major consideration glass wins out.
I just love glass, firm, any lube and cleans so easy. Not that silicone can't be just as good, I just reach for glass more often. Temp play it also much better.
Now the wife just loves her new silicone Acute, and does not care to play with glass anymore, she prefers the softer materials.

A lot of us feel that very rigid materials and cervixes don't go well together. I always have to remind My Man, when we are using a rigid toy to not thrust deeply.
That being said, I would like to try glass. But, we'll probably go with Steel, as if My Man is not comfortable, I'm not going to push the subject.

Pyrex toys aren't that breakable. They're not like lightbulbs. I've dropped them on a tile floor more than once and they didn't break, not that I recommend dropping them.

True and I always use a c-ring to judge depth, makes things so much nicer/safer. The wife's main problem is her pubic bone, it does not like being hit. She does not like the toys with harder ridges, even my 'built in toy' can hit it wrong sometimes. She really did not like her introduction to the Pure Wand, not good.
As she tries different toys/materials she is finding the more smooth/softer/less realistic shapes more to her liking. She literally stole the Acute from me. lol (review submitted)
I do love glass, but I have to be in a very particular mindset to play with it. The rigidity of glass makes it a hard one for me to want to play with regularly (but it puts on a fantastic show!).
These are all some really fantastic points! I haven't tried glass, but just visually, they look so pretty! I look at the designs and it inspires me to go make my own ceramic toys, haha. (I'm a ceramics student, though I don't know what I could pass that off as in the kiln....)
I like both, but in a pinch I'd go silicone - glass is so hard and stiff that partner play can be difficult, especially if you want to get really "hot and heavy"
I have more silicone toys than glass toys, but I love the glass toys I have dearly. I love the rigidity, completely smooth texture, and possibilities for temperature play. I also love how they look! Silicone toys are pretty neat and versatile, and you don't have to check them for cracks, but they still don't give me the same feeling of...beauty? that glass toys give.
I love glass! I have more glass toys than any other material in my collection. I love how hard they are and how I dont always need a curved one to get really good g-spot stimulation/pressure. Plus, they are beautiful to look at! I guess it also can be because I prefer dildos over vibrators.
I can't choose one OR the other, cause I really love both. They each have lots of great qualities, one of the best is that they safe for your body and easy to clean.
In our case - glass edges out silicone. That said silicone is the best thing out there for 'non-rigid' toys. We also love metal toys like the PureWand and Alumina Flow. We like the weight and slick nature of the harder toys - less lubrication is needed and the temperature play is great as well.
I have to say silicone, also as I have a collection of silicone dils. I do like glass, no lint, easy to clean and great for temperature play. But for thrusting, I just love the feel of silicone and the realism factor.
The NJoy Pure Wand and Eleven are also on top of my list....guess it depends on my mood.
Once we discovered silicone, we've neglected most everything else.
One look at our toy collection leaves zero doubt about our love for silicone toys.
However, many of the glass toys that Eden offers are visually very appealing, so we'll be trying one soon.
