What formed your opinion of jelly toys?

Contributor: sXeVegan90 sXeVegan90
I used to use Jelly toys, but I've never had a reaction. I feel it's better to be safe than sorry though, so I stopped using them. I've never known anyone to have a reaction to them. I did do research however, on their chemical compounds.

Honestly, I own a single jelly toy and have never had a problem with them... Even using them in extremely non-recommended ways. I've never done much research, just heard people get pretty up in arms over that at EF. My general opinion about that sort of thing is that science is trying to scare us into something different every day though, so until I have a reaction (bad logic, I know) I probably won't worry about it much.

I read some blog entries and decided the risk obviously wasn't worth it! That's about it.

Like many others I used Jelly toys in the early days and had no adverse effects, luckily!! However, after hearing the dangers and doing my own research on jellies, the one and only that we had was disposed of!

I first used jelly in the beginning. The safety issue is what changed my opinions.

My first toy (like so many) was jelly. I still have it, even. It's a set of anal beads.

But I am not fond of it and then I found out exactly how horrible jelly toys are, so...no jelly for me ever again!

The first toy I bought when I was 18 was jelly, and that was the only jelly toy I ever owned. The smell was off putting, then after doing my research I learned it wasn't a very safe material.

My first toy was jelly, but I upgraded to Lelo Gigi for my second toy.

I don't care to support the very existence of jelly toys by purchasing them or reviewing them, because not only are the unpleasant to use and potentially unsafe, but they're also terrible for the environment. I also try to avoid other consumer goods that quickly end up in landfills and contain similar chemicals.

One of my partners has a jelly dick that he says the site he got it from claimed was silicone. Looking at the icky stuff in the textured flaws and holes in the surface, and comparing it to my actual high-quality silicone toys, we have concluded that his is actually jelly. It's fucking nasty up close. He boils it frequently and even so, I'd never let him use that thing on me without a condom.

When I used to use my jelly rabbit, I'd experience vaginal burning every time I used it. I thought it was because the toy was kind of girthy, but then I did some research and found out I was having a reaction to the gross chemicals leaching out of the toy. Haven't used it since.

I used to use a jelly toy and never had a reaction, but after reading about it I threw it out. I like silicone since it is also used for medical devices...and I generally trust medical-community endorsed items and materials.

I used them once and I just didn't enjoy the smell or the idea that they're toxic. I like the firmness of silicone anyway.

I tried a jelly toy once before I knew much about the material and it gave me a UTI. So now I don't even bother with Jelly toys.

My first toy was jelly. I hated the material, but thought that was simply the material sex toys were made out of. Ten years later, I am pleased as punch to have a handful of body-safe toys that don't stink! I love silicone!

I'd use them if I felt they were safer.
